    Agree with you there Errata.

At least porticomidlands had the decency to be upfront that he/she worked for Spaceslide.

hmm interesting, didn't expect to get spaceslide or sliderobes people on here.

thanks porticomidlands for being honest that you work for spaceslide, we are not in the area to visit the show room, but I am going to order a free sample to check out the quality (haven't done it yet) as I don't like to buy things I haven't seen as I'm sure you understand.

I did like sliderobes, but they are very expensive, and we could do without that cost at the moment. I am just concerned about spaceslide as I dont think it will be a straightforward wardrobe, and am worried in case we order the wrong bits.

Hmm Personal help vs saving money... not sure which to go for!

Due to lack of space we looked at the sliding door wardrobe option. After a quick google search the two companies already discussed were identified. We did visit the sliderobes location as live in the midlands. In the end we couldn't justify £000's for a wardrobe as it was not a straight forward design (not a simple rectangle as we had a 'triangular box' in one corner due to the stairs being below the room.

In the end we went for the option Missnobody suggested, we got the wardrobe shell from Ikea and are currently deciding on what to do about doors. As the two companies above say they build to order, I presume there is no reason why they can't make them to fit your idea 'shell'.

    Hope that helps!

Sorry for resurrecting this, but, seeing as there are staff from Spaceslide contributing can they offer any discounts? Saw a leaflet on the website with a 10% discount but code (60MMOCT) no longer works (neither does 60MMJUL or 60MMAUG). Debating this or Ikea and a discount might swing it (hint hint).;)
  • I just had a quote from a local bedroom fitting company for fitting slidespace doors...

They do it by making 2 wardrobe carcasses first to fit in my odd sized alcoves and then attach tho doors to them...

I just wasn't expecting the price to be £2200.

Its only 4 doors... and nothing really fancy..

The doors alons from slidespace come to around £700.

So there is £1500 for labour and the wardrobe carcasses.

    Does this seem expensive?

I had a quote over the phone from:

    http://www.eezeeslidedoors.co.uk/

    They said around £1500....

peterc - why don't you find a joiner to give you a quote rather than a specialist bedroom fitter, I suspect it may be cheaper.

Not heard of eezeeslidedoors but will give them a ring. thanks

that would have been a really helpful post if you hadn't advertised your company. Advertising isn't allowed here.
