Although I am in work, I still get emails from what I thought were relevant, genuine job sites.
So, today one from "totaljobs" was lurking in my spam folder.
I shall copy and paste some of the details.

Apprenticeship in Business Administration L2 - £131.25 per week
Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour from April 1st 2017. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
Skills Required :
Essential Skills
Microsoft Office
Microsoft Excell spreadsheets
Organisational skills
Ability to prioritise workload
Enjoy working in a diverse and busy environment
Desirable Skills
Experience in providing data support and administration
So, they already want someone with previous skills in administration.
How can anyone survive on that pay?

These so called apprenticeships are just an excuse for employers to get around the minimum wage laws.0 -
I agree. My company hired an apprentice. He does exactly the same as our admin team but gets paid much less!
You could have the IT experience from use at school or personal use and as the others say, if you live at home the pay is sufficient. Might be a good way to get on the ladder.0 -
An apprentice should be spending at least 20% of their time off the job, doing training.
