Mistake on Post Office application

Hi Guys,

I made a mistake on my Post Office online application, somehow I entered the wrong date of birth (I don't even know how) and the app was differed, I found out about the error when I called them (poor guy took 10 minutes to find the application).

I had two choices:

1. Reapply (current app couldn't be more edited), get rejected and have the requests merged and then provide up to 4 pieces of documentation.

2. Cancel the application

I chose option 2 as the first option was just asking for more issues.

My query is what will show on my credit report? The guy said it will show a search without an outcome, is that true? Will it have any affect on my otherwise good credit status?

Thanks,

Matt

As the DOB was different it should show no search or possible CIFAS marker

    Thanks,

    CIFAS?

Would these affect me applying again or applying elsewhere in the next 6 months?

Absolutely, but it's not certain that it'd be reported to CIFAS anyway.

well did you get a chance to review your data before you press apply.

You had electronically sign and agree that the data was accurate at the time of the application form...

Have you heard back from post office banking team..about your application?
Applying for a cc you will have to get your salary right, the length of time you have been at address and then your name and date of birth.
Remember that banks need accuracy so as to try prevent fraudulent transactions. If you don't get approved chalk it up as experience and just be careful in future applications.
