    Hello,
firstly well done you for recognising this and nipping it in the bud. Secondly, well done for smashing so much off your cards in one go. I would suggest that perhaps you don't need to reduce holidays to absolutely 0, you just need to save for them first! If you can get £800+ off your cards in one fell swoop then I can't see why it would be a problem to put some in long term savings and have some in a 'holiday fund'? Life is for living after all, so long as you can afford the life you are living without debt then I say get on with it!
Speaking from experience, houses and families and commitments are great but you will never regret an amazing holiday, so long as you don't end up in debt to get there.
    Good luck!

    Hi Katzen,
I don't feel I could ever have zero holidays but definitely could save for then and no longer need to pay on the credit card to pay for them.
I will look into saving for holidays in the new year but this side of Christmas I want to get as much paid off as possible. I have already saved the cash I need for my trip in a couple of weeks so won't need anymore for trips for a few months.
I don't regret any holidays I have been on as I have had some amazing experiences and made so many memories, and at least I know the debt was at least used for something memorable and I know where the majority of the money went.
I think the mindset of life is for living got me into this pickle in the first place lol.
    Thanks for your support!

Good luck on your journey, you can do this!

The ISA sounds great and liking the idea of your parents helping out by your Rent being paid into ISA instead. I might think about that with my kids when they are older.

    Hi Fivebyfive,

I have a friend whose parents charged her £250 a month rent once she got a full time job at 18. She didn't know but all the money she gave them they were saving for her and after 5 years at 23 years old they were able to give her over £15000 as a deposit to buy her first property! All the years she felt hard done by paying more rent than the rest of us were very soon forgotten about!!

This is something that one day I hope I would be in the financial position to do for my kids (once I have some that is!)

So a friend has just transferred me £10 he owed me from a few weeks ago so that is another £10 paid off Barclayc@rd 1. Think I will chase up my other friend who owes me money too as that would be another additional payment.

So I have logged on tonight to make my PAD. However, Barclayc@rd's app is not working correctly so have decided to build up my daily payments in one of my empty savings accounts so I can pay it of in one lump sum at the end of the month.
So I have £8.18 ready and waiting to be added to daily and paid off on 25th October (day before payday)

I also chased the £45 my friend owes my for a ticket which she has said she will pay in a couple of days so that will be paid to Barclayc@rd 1 once it is received.

Would love to get that card down to £100 by payday - going to give it my best shot!

    Hello :)

Just popping by (&subscribing) to say hi - and to let you know you seem to be doing great. There are certainly quite a few of us in 20s trying to get it all paid off and save for deposits! :D
