What insurance do we need post-mortgage?

Currently have a number of policies relating to our mortgage (income protection, critical illness, life and such) but I am curious what insurance/assurance would we need once the mortgage has been paid off. Possibly difficult to provide more than a generic answer without background information but responses are welcome please.

Pretty much the same as you need with a mortgage, just paid with a bit less cover. You still have plenty of bills to pay after you pay off the mortgage - could you afford then if one/both of you died or were unable to work for health reasons? If so then great - if not then you likely need some combination of life, critical illness and income protection to protect you against that risk.

    Easy question but difficult answer.

    Why do YOU need insurance?
    e.g.
    Do you have dependants?
    Do you have debts?
Do you have an emergency fund?

It would be prudent to insure your home, contents and of course any vehicles you own. If you have an emergency fund / sufficient savings you may not require any other insurance.
