I rushed to my local Boots in my lunch break today, but there were signs up saying that the 50% off sale had been extended due bad weather nationwide!

It's not suprising they've put it back to be honest - no-one's bought anything from the current sale selection in my store. "50% off" clearly isn't good enough when we know "75% off" is around the corner.
