Been without a Sky subscription since September and have been using the Sky box as a freeview box. Was just thinking the other day about freeview channels and how many were available. Can anyone point me in the direction of a list of freeview channels please. Trying to avoid scrolling through all the channels.

The best one I could find to easily compare the differences...

  • Many thanks milgo. Much appreciated.
  • I currently receive my TV channels through Sky but looking to cut costs.

I want to change to freeview or freesat but do not have a TV aerial.

Can I use the aerial plug that comes from my sky dish in a freeview / freesat box or do I need to install a TV aerial?

Any help appreciated - Thank you

Freeview is a terrestrial broadcast which you need TV aerial to receive.

Freesat uses satellite and you can use your sky dish to connect and use a Freesat receiver.

You will get most of the freesat channels through your existing Sky box.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

take your viewing card out and see what channels you can view .
This is what you will have without sky.

  • Excellent, thank you - just reading about freesat now!
Think that's the way to go.

This isn't Freesat, it's 'Freesat from Sky'. But essentially the same channel line up. However the downside is that once your sub ends you will lose the Sky+ features, plus access to existing recorded programmes. If you want PVR functions then you will need to invest in a Freesat PVR such as a Humax.

If im with Virgin media what are my options for replacement (as Freesat seems to be for Sky customers).

I like the idea of pausing and recording still, not overly fussed about zillions of channels, l have told the OH the sports channels are going on Virgin anyway and so fed up with the cost for a few few footie games !!!

    Thanks
