    Hello.

Could I join please, I've only just seen this post. I can't say how much I'll save as I save up all my change.

Oh and your information on coin star machines if any members bank with Natwest then they have a coin star type machine but it don't take a percentage it just counts it all up, gives you a receipt you take it to the counter and deposit I to your account.

  • Hey,
    I'm back!
    So, managed £48.11 for SPC10.
Aiming for £250 this year, but secretly hoping to surpass this!!

    Already potted £2.50.
I've started a new strategy this week - I've got a middling pot and so any money I save/don't use in a week I'm going to put into that pot. As my finances are quite tight I'm going to leave in the middling pot until the end of the month and if I don't need it, it's going in the sealed pot! This should work quite well as I don't have a huge social life so I won't really need to dip into it for anything not necessary!

We can't do anything but move forward :)

    Hope you're all doing well.

I'm still put picking roadkill with my litter picker (I know, what a sight!) But I've qot quite addicted to it now! :rotfl:

First Anniversary Name Dropper First Post I've been Money Tipped!
    My first pot of #11

5.80 saved from my work food/drink budget for the week.

I don't have a pot yet so its going into a holding area until I decided what sealed pot I am going to use. I think I am going to get another £land one it was a right pain to open but it did keep me from dipping into it through the year. I am sure if I could have got into it easy I would have been tempted.

Welcome to the new potters and good on you lynnejk for making them welcome (twice! :) ).
Potted a few more pounds this week by making a proper effort to reduce travel costs and take lunch to work/not buy coffee every day.
I was assaulted/mugged on Monday! There was I walking along Sidmouth seafront looking for the Hotel we were due to stay at whilst Mum and my sister were having a 'quick' look in the shops. Suddenly I felt a big crash on the side of my head like a punch. Somewhat dazed I looked down to see the remains of my massive ice cream (a tiny bit of the cone). A big seagull had stolen my ice cream from my mouth leaving me with a cut and bloodied lip. I had to laugh at the cheek of it once I came back to my senses.
Have a good rest of weekend everyone and keep your wits about with you if you're eating food at the seaside!

    Hello all!
Have finally got off the starting block with £3.60. It was interesting to feel my reaction when I got a £2 coin in my change - but it made it to my pot.
We have a couple of trips/holiday planned for next year so every penny will count.
I am going to try my best to take a packed lunch to work and I'm not sure the impact that will have on my saving as I won't be taking so much money out of the bank but I will work something out.
Hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend.
    Happy To Be Onboard!

My name is Samantha and i would love to join this challenge!
I have recently started maternity leave and would love to be able to have a nice Christmas next year.

I would like a goal of £500. I don't know if this is realistic or not though 😂

*Please pop your number on your sig, it really helps me.

Samantha - all the very best to you. Oh it’s achievable alright as long as you keep motivated! If you get time, amidst cuddling your little treasure, then keep up with us here on SPC as that’ll motivate you a LOT!!!

Ally-b - some of SPC members who mostly just use cards draw out money from their bank accounts to save in their pots. Very often it’s a more assured way of saving than if it was in the bank as so much of that goes on bills etc! Think about it.

It's ok Tony, we're all aware that it costs nothing to have our change counted at banks, part of my 1st post relates to that. However, thank you so much for being so considerate as you might well have drawn someone's eye to it! Very many thanks indeed.

Gold stars to mrs-moneypenny :staradmin and Lynne :staradmin, for those perfect welcomes. Very many thanks for being so helpful girls! :D

Isn’t it just great eh Saver-upper! :j Hopefully it’ll be a bumper year. :D Your chat to your Ikea customer couldn’t have been timed better!!! Well done! ;)

I’ve got a picture of you with your picker upper in my head Incywincy, and a great sight it is!!! Your Target’s set at £250 so all best wishes in achieving it or going beyond!!!!! You’ll do it if you stick to your strategy!!! :j

Ah I wondered where you had got to iammumtoone, but you’ve clearly been saving hard from your budget. A fantastic amount to have already.

It’s wonderful to hear how money conscious you’ve become, Antomac, excellent news and potting!!! :D I read your post with great fear that maybe the mugger has even whipped your cash from you! :eek:Almost money conscious to unconscious in a very short time!!!!! :rotfl: It’s ok to giggle now but it must have been terrifying at the time!

Many years ago we were at Paignton and our little lad (as he was then) was playing along with his big Sister when all of a sudden a gull swooped down grabbed DS’s flip flop and took off with it!!!! It was a comical sight with our little fellar pelting along the beach and hollering “bring that back!” at the gull who wasn’t listening at all!!! What on earth would a gull have done with a flip flop!!!!! It gave many folk a darned good laugh though!

Incidentally, we used to live at Sidbury just outside of Sidmouth, hubby was a Herdsman on a lovely farm right up on the hill. A smashing life and when we weren’t able to be at the beach we had a marvellous view of it as well as the sea! I’m getting carried away here! I hope you all had a wonderful time and maybe even managed to go to “The Byes”, a lovely river with parkland on either side towards the back of the town.

Hello there mossy! It’s good to see you. I’ve not been over to SPC 10 yet, but very much look forward to doing so.
I’ve already sorted out the dilemma with your Christmas Tree, buy the bottom half this year and top half next! How’s that for solving the problem!!!! :rotfl:Thanks a lot for putting next year’s date on your siggy, you’re the only person who’s said that!! One up to mossy!!!!

All the very best with potting well and budgeting well for next year Jellyb! You've much to aim for!!!!! :j

Have a really wonderful Sunday everyone, and pot when you’re able!

    Sue xx

Opening date for SPC 11 will be 1st November 2018
