You carry on as you were. Email them and say that, given you have little confidence in their processes and that they have indicated to the court they intend to defend, you will agree to no suspension of legal activity or extension of deadlines until you have received a cheque in settlement of the full amount owed. It does NOT require 14 days to issue a cheque. Offer them the option of a bank transfer if easier.0

Hi guys, sitting in a 'live' delay as we speak and would appreciate any advice on what we need to do should we want to take this further later on... Long story short, Gatwick to Cancun. Dep meant to be 9:10 but delayed with next update due at 12:00. Have had to seek details myself and it's a problem with aircraft which requires a part to be replaced. Chances therefore are high to guaranteed that we'll be more than 3 hours late!
So, what do we need to do meantime other than save our boarding passes etc?
Any thoughts or advice gratefully received!
Cheers!
Update: appears to be scheduled for 13:00 now so depending on weather etc (and any slack in the timetable) it might make up time on the way. What is the 'official' measure of arrival time? The flightstats site? Ta!0 -
Keep a very accurate log of all timings at arrival, ie touch down, gate arrival etc, (get a member of crew to sign something stating arrival time? Ensure you get your refreshments due to delay. Try to get reason, in writing. They really should give you a written explanation of delay at the time and a they should mention your rightsIf you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Thanks! We've been promised a letter and food/ drink vouchers (bit late given boarding soon, maybe...). Had a look at FAQs though and see it says no comp if it's a part e.g. made by boeing or airbus? Hmm...0 -
What FAQs. Not the ones on this site!0

I've just seen it: it's a slightly crack-handed reference to one of the exclusions included in the land-mark Wallentin judgement (which talked about a hidden manufacturing defect that would affect all the planes in the fleet eg the battery issue in the Dreamliner). It doesnt mean a fault in a part built by the manufacturer - since that would - by definition - cover all of them!0

Ah, helpful - thanks. Been told it was a leaking actuator that needed replaced. Now on board and powering up the engines so with any luck we're moving soon. Will def hit the 3 hour mark. Next up 5, lol...
Will keep the thread posted.

Nothing "extraordinary" about that fault!
