continuing to pay all extras off CC
now we have extra on cc because of giving all of our cash to DD1 for her house purchase (£8k) and I wanted to keep holiday money and emergency fund separately.

have just deleted moany post.... need to have a chat with DD1 .... :o

  • Talked with DD1, at least she is cool with things being discussed (unlike DD2) she understands our worries and frustrations... I've said my piece and its all amicable. :)

Wing mirror was done by the local mechanic friend of OH, he's semi retired and tinkers with cars. He charged £15 :T:T:T We gave him £20 :D We have avoided the garage this year with the extended warrantee, my sanity is worth throwing it in the bin.

We have a couple of trips coming up. I've confessed to the York christening, however I had forgotten DD2 had bought OH John Bishop tickets last Christmas.... She booked it in Manchester. I've managed to use the @irbnb gift voucher and got the price of an apartment down to £26 from £100 :T:T

May balance out my new membership to Sl1mming Worl2 :o . The group leader I've seen many many times over the last 5 years. She asked us to fill in card shaped as xmas baubles to put our xmas wishes .. I peddled the usual , 20lbs (this side of xmas) , but thinking about it, I not only want to feel fitter and move more easily, I want to be able to take my wedding ring off , if only for a few minutes and I would love to cross my arms across my chest without reminding myself of Hattie Jaques

  • Still ploughing away at the cc, a 3rd gone since our return.

@irbnb has been really lucrative this month. We've had 3 nights off since the 5th. Was planning a restful couple of days then more bookings up to next Sunday , with 4 different couples, so a bit more work. But as above, all improving our bank or CC balances :D

OH is laid up with a sore ankle. He's moving a bit better today but its still swollen. It's likely to be degenerative in someway but will he heck go to the Dr's. I assess these things for a living. It's happened a few times but never has been so debilitating. So My days off are making beds and cooking meals for OH  ( I gave him the kitchen years ago ;) )

Seen as yesterday and today are my weekend days, I tried M&S low calorie low alcohol wine last night. Was quite enjoyable. Didn't taste watered down at all. I did feel a little cheated by the end of the night, although that is a positive :o no drunkenness ;) so why not drink water or juice really :o

I bought soda crystals probably 2 years ago now. Used them once and they have been in the corner of the laundry room since. I remember seeing oven hood filters cleaned by them so I gave it a go. Left them in soak for a couple of hours (forgot about them :o ) and the grease just melted off them... Thrilled.

    hello all,

Not posted for a while so I've had a few months break from MSE. I went into a house spending spree to try to make me feel better about all things house. Built up CC to buy holiday, sofas, much needed wardrobes, decorating.... anyhow I had to push OH into finishing 3 year old jobs.

We decided to sell the house around Christmas time as I was still unhappy, even with the pretty and necessary changes. So end of Jan put house on market and it sold in a week !!!
We are still astounded... our buyers wanted to move quickly , so we did. 5 weeks in total :T:T:T

We are now in a hotel (kind of) awaiting our new property.... so homeless but cash rich :D and almost CC free. I will need to pay off my old stooze card when the mortgage releases ERC of £4k to port the mortgage.

Strangely we have a good deal on the hotel apartment which is very basic at £140 per week and have provisionally booked for 6 weeks. Being here will be half the price of our monthly bills so we are gaining holiday spends and having a little adventure.

mind you there has been no move on our purchase as a forgotten form needs singing by the long divorced owners who are not speaking to each other. Even the solicitors can't get hold of the Mrs, when it was the Mr who was initially the staller.

I hope we don't get messed around much longer. there is nothing on the market locally I like and with my demands without increasing by £20k or £30k.

So we are playing a waiting game. Hopefully this time next month my mortgage will be £120k over 12 years, and my aim is to reduce to below £100k before re-mortgage in 18months. then I aim to blast that £100k in 5 or 6 years :D

Our new house will give us privacy that we have not had for 10 years or so, a south facing garden, a driveway and only 3 bedrooms... We can't wait.

I managed to read a few diaries over the last few days and will go back to commenting when I pluck up the courage :o .

hope all are well .. thanks to those who have pm'd me ;)

yes exciting times, I feel free :D

missing Mrs has signed documents so we are all processing forwards :T:T:T

Because I'm porting the mortgage I will only have to pay £1k not £5k ERC, this however has been kept behind until the process is complete. Well I hope so anyway as I received £1k in my bank yesterday as a mortgage refund I really hope its as well as, and not a replacement of the £4k i was expecting.

The tiny apartment is not too bad when we have work to keep us out of it :D but not so great when we babysit :o

OHs birthday this week end, i've another long day to do tomorrow before I'm off again.
