I have emailed the council asking for information.

Better Homes Leeds is managed by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, and utilises funding from the Government’s Green Deal and Energy Company Obligation (ECO) schemes.

I bought a property that also had Shade Greener panels fitted but it was a cash purchase.
After a few weeks/months i approched the company to ask them what i needed to do and got no reply. After another month or so i emailed them to say i was presuming they no longer wanted the panels being as they was not replying and i was giving them 28 days from the date of the letter to confirm and if no response was forthcoming i would begin to remove the panels.

I did get a reply back to say i didnt need to do anything other than give them a new contact number just in case there was a problem with the panels at anytime.

I was buying the property as a BTL so i saw the panels as a positive and its worked great beacuse the lady of the tenant couple is a housewife so shes at home all day with discounted electric

They told me that the contract is on the property and not the owners but i/m not convinced thats how it works becuase im sure someone signed the contract becuase the house cannot write!!

I guess they put a deed of covenant in the deeds.

We are having the same problem with A Shade Greener. We have a first time buyer and we are not buying so it should have been fairly easy. we are now at 14 weeks and stuck because A Shade Greener are not getting back to the solicitors. Any ideas?

Try their twitter feed? Point out that behaviour like this doesn't do any good to future new sales because word gets out.

    Hi z.j.c
We are still having problems. We have ground to a halt since 6th July. I think one issue is the FIT despite explaining it several times. The other thing is the access. The main problem is still A Shade Greener who just don't get back to anyone. Not sure what we can do. I have one very stressed husband.

    Hey kinbobs

Sorry to hear your still having problems they caused a delay of 4 weeks on my purchase. I didn't have any trouble with the FIT as it goes directly to ASG it was the access and the removal of the panels at the mortgage companies request.

Not sure if I can share contact details on here but if you would like some email's and phone numbers ill share them just PM me.

I had to email the managing director and only then did I get action!

Pleased to read you made it through the problems. Don't think we are ever going to get there. ASG don't help. Wish I had never allowed them to be put on my roof.

we have just read the Deed of Variation for selling our house and it is completely different to the original lease. They charge you for taking the panels off and putting them back on. They don't insure the panels. Did you find the same
