In celebration of the new oven, OH and I had an afternoon of baking yesterday. :happyhear We made 14 pasties and a big fruit pie from a recipe we saw on a cookery show on Saturday. We 'budgeted down' some of the ingredients though as there was no way we were paying £2.50 for one vanilla pod! We have distributed some of the pasties amongst family and I've brought a couple in for colleagues today and OH has taken some to work for his workmates. We have a few left over which won't last the week! ;)

Yesterday morning we went to Mr T's early and they had loads of YS bargains, so we stocked up on speciality sausages, gourmet burgers, some christmas party food, chicken and a few other bits, all at great prices! We also jointly bought a couple of bottles of booze for Christmas presents and I picked up some gift cards I needed to purchase for presents. The whole bill came to £109 which I put on the credit card, but OH is giving me half and the rest I will pay off this week.
Most of the YS bargains have gone into the freezer for Christmas time, but I need to juggle the freezer contents round a bit tonight to fit a couple more things in.

I've ordered a few more Christmas presents too, using the Amazon voucher I claimed via surveys as part payment. ;)

Not much else to report, I may be be able to make another little overpayment/savings top up once some more money from the business has hit the account, hopefully by the end of the week.

    Have a good Monday all

Just transferred some sales money from the Paypal account, so have topped up the savings account by £40. Balance now stands at £1690.

I've updated YNAB with the weekend's spends, it's going to be tight but doable for the rest of the month.

I bought one more Christmas present this afternoon - a book which was £7 cheaper than on Amazon after shopping around. :)

I attempted to cut the [STRIKE]wilderness jungle[/STRIKE] grass this afternoon when I got home. The grass was a bit wet though, so the lawnmower struggled, but at least it's looking a little better now.
I also put two outside security lights up which is a job to cross off the list as I've been meaning to do them for ages.
One load of washing has also been done and is now drying in the tumble dryer - no other option in this weather unfortunately.

I've repackaged some wallpaper which needs to be returned. I should get a refund of about £70 when it's credited back to the account, so that will help to bump up the savings a a little. Thankfully it's a free return as the box is heavy and would cost a fortune to post otherwise.

I've picked the meat off a chicken cooked yesterday to use for lunch tomorrow and re-jigged the freezer to get the rest of yesterday's YS bargains in. DS has been fed, my dinner is in the fridge for later and breakfast and lunches for tomorrow are sorted.

    I almost sound organised! ;)

I've already spent a fortune (to me!) this morning and it's not even 10am! :o

I've been on the look out for some curtains for my bedroom as there are currently blinds which, I didn't realise until recently, don't actually block everything out if there's a light on inside and you're looking up from street level...
Anyway, argos have a sale on and there's some blackout curtains which will do the job nicely. There's two windows in my bedroom - one bay and one normal one, so I need to buy two pairs unfortunately, but they are a good price. I need to shop around for a reasonably priced bay window pole now.

I've also picked up some frames in the sale to make some family Christmas presents with DS's school photos, and a duvet cover for the spare room which I really didn't need, but loved and have been looking to get rid of the one that's in there for a while now. :p

Considering I started with a basket at £179, I wittled it down to £69 so not too bad! :rotfl:

I've done one more survey this morning and am not far off another £5 voucher. I'm still wiating for the last to turn up in my inbox when it will quickly be used to buy another Christmas present. I worked out that I'd earned £120 in vouchers since May/June from surveys. I'm happy with that. :)

I've just cancelled the order for the curtains & duvet cover, decided I can do without them presently as I need the money for other things. I've just kept the order for the frames for £2.49 for 7, and ordered some prints of photos needed to fill them for just under £4. :)
