Adobe Flash Player 11.4r402 has stopped working ???

Hi Folks,

I'm after some advice please, I've recently updated Firefox (running on Win 7) on my Dell Inspiron 1750 laptop

now I keep getting pop up messages stating

Adobe Flash Player 11.4 r402 has stopped working

had this message all last night, (what a pain) anyway I deleted the previous version on Adobe flash player and installed the latest version

I'm still getting the message, although not as frequent, any ideas, suggestions as to getting rid of this message

Thanks in advance

    Cleared the firefox cache?
Some sites just do cause firefox to crash sometimes but try clearing the cache, uninstall flash, disable the flash plugin in firefox and then reinstall.

I know of one site myself, first time I go there each day it crashes, restart firefox and it works. Using the testing release of firefox myself, on version 16.

I've seen this happen a lot recently on Windows XP computers.

On that platform, you need to switch off automatic updates to stop the errors.

If you want to try the same, open Start, and type in Flash - the control panel link to the Flash player should appear in the list. Go there, select the advanced tab, and change the update option to 'notify me of updates'.
  • Stop Trusteer Rapport if you have it running and the problem will go away.
You can stop and start Rapport by following:
Start menu -> All Programs -> Trusteer Rapport -> Stop Rapport
  • Hi
I have jsut uninstalled Trusteer Rapport but its still happening?
Opens up to 31 pages with 'Adobe Flash Player 11.4 r402 has stopped working'.

MSE, comes to the rescue yet again

this appears to have done the trick

having suffered a few nights of constant pop-up messages and slow running pages, I'm now back up and running

Thank you very, very much for the tip
