Home insurance while kids are in charge

Just thinking ahead here, does typical home insurance policy provide cover if we (Mum & Dad) decide to go on holiday / short break and leave teenage son behind when he's aged...

a. Sixteen
b. Seventeen
c. Eighteen

Thanks

    Yes
    Yes
    Yes

    Why wouldn't it?
We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
The earth needs us for nothing.
The earth does not belong to us.

  • Yes, but on the same terms as it will cover you, ie. The insurers would expect him to take reasonable care to prevent loss or damage.

"Facebook party" is not an insued event!

No but 'accidental damage' is and I've never seen a policy that excludes 'Having a party' although granted you must take 'Reasonable care' to prevent items being damaged.

Bear in mind if some items are taken or stuff gets damaged then some policies will exclude damage caused by people invited into the premises.
