Evening everyone, i have been a bit lazy today the only housework i have done is hoover, i have had cuddles with Thumper, watched the Tennis final, and napped, then tonight DD1 pampered me by dying my hair for me, and doing Gel nails and a facepack, i feel lovely atm. We are going to a Holistic Fayre tomorrow and i am so looking forward to it, i dont really have the money but i know i am going to fall in love with lots of crystals, buddhas etc  I have started to feel christmassy again and drinking my favourite Gingerbread Lattes and noticed they now do Coconut Lattes just in case anyone is interested they are really nice too.

PRINCESSKITTY i keep forgetting to post but my Sainsburys have the mini gingerbread men sprinkles in now, if you cant find them i can buy some and post to you they are only £1 a pot :)

PINKSTEPS aww DS has done so well with the injections, bless him, will he cope with the MRI? Oh no not more conditions, that is one of the tests i had, for Ceoliac disease. He and you have so much to deal with, just when you thought you were going to have a break from hosp/drs!! It just all gets a bit too much to deal with, well that is how i feel sometimes and im sure it is the same for you, sending you hugs :)

MURIE did you manage to find the white wrapping paper with gold spots for DDs birthday?

PEPPAPIG oh i always wanted a caravan we could just drive to for holidays too but could never afford it, we used to have a tourer which was fab when the kids were little but i would have loved a static. I am glad you dont want to be sensible anymore :rotfl:after all what you have been through this year you need to go a bit mad :rotfl:I hope you get DH to come round to your way of thinking, Ludlow is one of the places i would love to see and that area it always looks gorgeous

04624181 ooh i didnt know there was a british version of american girl, my niece used to have one of them dolls and i got her an outfit when we were in NY, it was the best shop i have ever been in so gawd knows how excited little girls got going in there. They even have proper doll hooks for the dolls in the toilets for the kids to put them on. Aww that onesie set is so sweet i need a little girl to buy for :rotfl:Aaah that is a wonderful idea for DD she will love afternoon tea out with mum :)

NITNURSE well i did have a 50 things before im 50 list (although i never quite got to 50) but then being ill for 5 months scuppered it i will be lucky if i cross off 10 things but after reading your year of celebrating i thought i could actually stretch it out until the end of the year :rotfl:Your trips/holidays etc sound great, good for you! Oh lordy i know what you mean about DS room mine is just the same, what do they do? He showers every day so its not that he is a dirty smelly man but my goodness its rank!!

Oh FEISTY poor DH, that brought a tear to my eye, it must really stress him out thinking like that, and you!! I am so sorry he is much worse and hope that his consultant can help him on monday. Sending you lots of hugs to you all my lovely xx

  • Dear Feisty my thoughts are with you and your little family. I'm afraid that's all I can offer but you are all often in my thoughts along with many others on here, everyone seems so strong coping with what life throws at them. Quite often I am on here wanting to write some words of support but I never know if I might say the wrong thing, but I wish you and all those here who are feeling delicate, whether it's themselves or family, physical illness or mental an extra hug and I do sit and think how amazing you all are, surviving the bad times as well as the good.xx

And Free good question, will DS cope with the MRI, I have no bloomin clue, but he has also taken things in his stride, so fingers crossed.xx

Feisty- that must have been an awful thing to hear him actually voice his fears and my heart goes out to you both x Hopefully the consultant will be able to offer some help when he/she is back on Monday.

Peppa- stuff practicality and being sensible! You have had enough to contend with lately, tell him its time to throw caution to the wind and time to do something exciting (buttering him up also helps lol!). Think of all the positives, time away for you both, ready made breaks for the girls, ability to see your sister when she moves - let him know its a win win situation lol!

Pinksteps, your poor DS - yet another thing to contend with as if he didn't have enough. Would it benefit him to have information about the MRI and whats going to happen before he has it or would that stress him out? Im sorry that you have yet more to have to deal with x. I know what you mean about reading on here about peoples issues, your heart goes out to them and your never sure if what you are saying is going to come across in the right way- I definitely feel that way.

Free- you deserve a bit of pampering after these last few months and the holistic fayre sounds like an ideal day out. That's an indication of how far you have come lately- a month ago you wouldn't have even considered going let alone looked forward to it! Hope you have a fantastic day x

Well I am up at silly o clock- at 4.30 I could have sworn I heard the dog bark so I stumbled out of bed struggled to get my dressing gown on to get down to let her out. All the time cursing DH cus he was just lying there letting me do it all! It couldn't have been my dog cus she was lying on the settee snoring her head off so I must have been dreaming. By then I was totally awake so I have been surfing the net and tidying, putting the meat into roast etc for the past hour and half. I am ready for bed again now lol.

I hope everyone has a good Sunday and that the weather picks up a little. It was awful here last night, so heavy and hot so fingers crossed for a nice day today (even though it looks very dark and dismal)
    lovin' this site!

What!!!!!!!!!!!!! just lost a massive post.

    Briefly

FF My heart breaks for you both.xxxxx

I am glad that others have said they fear saying much for fear of making people feel worse when they are having a bad time.Me too I am scared of putting my foot in it so I always keep it brief and positive, when perhaps I should say more of what I am thinking!

Hi to peonysugar, peonies are one of my favourite flowers.

I know what you all mean about diagnosis.Glad the NHS is there but I am personally fed up of hospitals at the moment.Feel like I have never been away the last 5 years.

PK I would love to see the finished makes, sounds lovely.

Peppa, sounds just what the Doctor ordered to have your very own wendy house at the seaside.

0462... I would have loved a tea party with my Mummy when I was a little girl.In fact I would love one now. That has given me an idea to take my Mum out somewhere for afternoon tea.Hmm will get my thinking cap on.I love the doll also.I love realistic dolls but not the ones with big heads and cartoon features.Any chance of a photo of your hampers?

Free way to go girl. You are on the road to feeling so much better. If you can go swanning round holistic fairs with your posh hair n nails you can totally rock the diabetes clinic. So pleased you have turned a corner Free xxx

Mrs I you have come home to a lot.If it ever stops raining you can get in the garden to relax whilst you try and control the triffids.

Nitnurse... Wow that is a holiday. My sons girlfriend went to Vietnam and raves about it.Same for anyone I know who has been to Thailand. With all your activities this year I bet you have got a permanently packed suitcase.

Pinksteps, you could ask if it's possible to play your sons choice of music during his scan. Its not too bad if you keep your eyes shut and listen to the music.

Murie, haha at dog snoring on the sofa,I bet the smell of the meat cooking stirs him.

Painkillers are ace. They take the sting right out of it.It's still there but much duller.Didn't notice better sleep but it's only been a few days.

Was Buxton carnival yesterday, still a big one even with dodgy weather forecast.Mr V and DD2 were on a float.A friend came up from Leicestershire for the day.Her husband has had a mid life crisis, lost lots of weight and got in touch with an old girlfriend from school on FB,you can guess the rest.

  • I Haven't been on here for a few days and I have a bit of catching up to do. virtual Hugs to everyone that needs them.

Pinksteps regarding the MRI it isn't as bad as some people make out. If someone is claustrophobic you can ask for a sedative but you need to ask in advance about a week before appointment. I had an head MRI a few years back and it went well, your given headphones to listen to some music if you have a head MRI, you can listen to a radio station or you can give them a CD to play. I enjoyed it so much I fell asleep and the poor specialist thought I fainted. :rotfl:

I watched a Christmas film on movies24 this morning which cheered me up. Also got 3 Christmas novels in a charity shop so that should do me for this year. Just about to order a few stocking fillers from dotcomgiftshop in the sale.

Evening everyone, i hope everyone has had a good day! The Holistic Fayre was really good, we now have a selection of crystals, tea light holders, an angel oil burner on the fire place to give the LR positive energy, i feel it is just what i need :D i know i am a crackpot sometimes.

PINKSTEPS i dont think any of us could say the wrong thing because we all know we are a caring bunch of lovelies who mean what we are saying from the heart. My fingers are definitely crossed for DS and lets hope he does take it in his stride :)

MURIE you must be shattered being up so early :o quite frequently i wake up thinking someone has knocked at the door, they havent but it feels so real! Yes last night was really warm and heavy here too i even put the ceiling fan on for the dog in the LR :D

VULPIX you always say lovely things, so no worries there :D glad the painkillers are working for you. OOh :mad::mad::mad: to the husband of your friend, i cant say no more otherwise i will be banned :D

TREASUREQUEEN well done on getting 3 christmas books from the CS what a bargain

FEISTY keep strong my lovely x

First Anniversary First Post Xmas Saver!
FEISTY I too can never seem to find the right words but I feel so much for you both. My DH has heart failure and a range of health problems but we're much older than you and it seems so unfair that your DH should have all this when you have so much to look forward to. Your research on the beta blockers sounds probable so hopefully his consultant will be able to help things get back into rhythm on Monday. I will be thinking of you and sending you all the positive vibes I can muster.

NITNURSE I'm very envious of your fabulous year - good for you and your golden girls! What a fabulous result with the lamp - that sort of thing normally happens in reverse to me.

FREESPIRIT your holistic fair sounds lovely and I don't think you're a crackpot at all. A bit of positive energy sounds good to me. I echo what others have said too, just look at how far you've come from being too anxious to phone for a doctor's appointment to all you're doing now. Big pat on the back for you methinks!

MURIE as always you make me laugh. I've had that too where I wake up because I've heard something that didn't happen. Normal noises can sound really loud too when you wake up in the night. Half four tends to be a bad time to wake up because you've had just enough sleep so you can't get back off but not enough to keep you going all day!

VULPIX def take your mum out for afternoon tea - it'll be a lovely treat for both of you.

TREASUREQUEEN when I had my MRI it was on a Saturday and they played me Radio2 so I listened to Tony Blackburn playing the oldies. Won't be the same for the next one now that Tony has been dumped by the BBC.

I got fed up looking at my candyfloss hair so I've cut it off. I'm not bald but look a bit like a shorn lamb - a very unevenly shorn lamb, it looks like I did it with a knife and fork but I don't care as only DH and I will see it.

We had a lovely evening yesterday and the Ab Fab film was good. It was lovely that all the original people were playing the same parts and the number of people doing cameo roles was huge. I had to sit right to the end because they played 'where do you go to my lovely' by Peter Sarstead and I had to sing along as I know all the words. DD was most impressed - not sure about the other people still in the cinema! Spent this morning with DGD which was lovely, I love that girl so much it's ridiculous.

I've downloaded a Christmas app on my iPad so filled that in a bit more this afternoon. Now July is here I'm definitely feeling the Christmas vibes.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :
  • Free: Glad things went well for you.

Feisty: Sorry things are not as good as you would like, hopefully the consultant will sort things out for DH & medication will be more beneficial. Wouldn't it be wonderful if love for & of family could help cure all problems?

Welcome back to those who have been MIA, newbies etc. We are now on the back straight!

Had a productive day yesterday, finally made my first Christmas cake. Had planned to have them all done before I go away, but that is not going to happen, so there is no point in my stressing about it. Will make another 2, hopefully 4 next weekend and that is it until I get back.

Then I wrapped all of the presents I have already bought, bar one, as I can't find it! Again, not going to stress, will find it when I get back from holiday. Nephew's birthday present needs to go day after I get back, so that is all ready to go, including stamped!

Have been packing for holiday, 1 1/2 suitcases for family, 1/2 for me :D Difficult to decide what to take as my instinct says that we will be going away while I am there, may be wrong, but my instinct is usually correct.

Peppa: Had to laugh about your hair! My hairdresser left where she was working but has taken on some private clients including me. We right royally messed up the timings for my appointments, concentrated on the one I need before I go away but forgot to arrange one which would have been due, it is driving me mad now & I have got to put up with it for another 2 weeks:mad: But at least it will be good for my holiday:rotfl::rotfl:
A smile costs little but creates much :)
