Sounds like a good price for the glasses to be honest - my last whole new set were £200+ (just very short-sighted, not varifocals or anything!)

Holiday sounds lovely :) and I totally understand about not having to worry about dogs - just wish my cats were more transportable!

Gosh they were cheap compared to yours then! They were specsavers own and I'm short sighted, I can't see anything from about 2ft away! I had to smile to myself because as I went in there was an assistant showing this lady the dfferent frames and this lady went 'Oh they will be designer ones, I'm not having the cheap ones!' and there's me holding two of the cheap pairs! Lol! All I could think was 'I wouldn't bother with designer love because you will end up sitting on them at some point!!'

Aww how many cats do you have? It's a shame they aren't as easy to take with you. I'd be worried they might run off as well if they got out. That's the problem with cats, they only seem to tolerate their human servants! Lol! x

I wish I could see 2ft away!! :) Just the two cats, more than enough hard work though, especially as they're house cats - I'd worry about them too much around here, although they do get a run in the garden every morning before breakfast (which is used to bribe them back in!).

Well not a huge amount happening at the moment! I've got £20 coming from one of my survey sites so that will go into the pot for an overpayment in a couple of weeks. We're at my mum and dad's for Christmas so I don't have to worry about paying for any food for Christmas dinner, I've just got to help my mum cook it!

Hope you all have a great Christmas and here's to another year of overpayments to get shut of the mortgage!

Logged onto the mortgage today and found they've already taken my next payment off the mortgage amount so the new total is £66,658.60. The payment won't come out of my account until Monday but it's nice to see the new total already because I log on everyday incase it's changed even though I haven't made any payments! Lol! I think I'm slighty OCD about checking it all the time! As I made a large overpayment last time they have now reduced the mortgage payment to £276 a month which will come into effect in February. I already have an overpayment of £50 which comes out every month with the regular payment but I think I may increase this to £100 in the new year. I'm keeping a close eye on overpayments as I can only pay 10% of the mortgage and it won't reset until August 17. I think I'll dig out the mortgage paperwork and have a look at how much the early repayment charge is in the unlikely event that it is worth paying that to be able pay over 10%.

The shopping has been delivered for the next two weeks and came to £101 which included the delivery charge and some booze for tonight so I'm hoping we can keep this up and maybe even cut it a little more next year!

Have a fantastic new year and if you've had a rubbish 2016 (I know how you feel!) I hope 2017 is a lot better for you and if you've had a good 2016 I hope it continues through 2017!

Overpayment made today of £658.60 so the new total will be £66,000.00. My target for this October was to be under £65,000 but I'm wondering if to try for £60,000 for the end of the year. I'm abit reluctant to set it in stone just incase we don't make it and that makes me feel disheartened! I'll see how we're getting on in about June or July and decide then!

A cheque from one of my survey websites for £20 has cleared in my account today and I have requested £10 from one and £15 from another so I am looking forward for those coming into my Paypal account. I've started to keep a spreadsheet on the payments from survey websites and in the past month I have made £100 in money and vouchers. Obvioulsy not as much as having a proper wage but it's nice to know that this covers a few of our bills and purchases.

Right I'll go and make my first post on the MFW 2017 challenge thread! Yay!

    Have a lovely day!

    Hi Jess,

Found you! Just read through your diary and you are so organised! I did the last minute rushed and grumpy Christmas shop in the end, hah!

You must have the patience of a saint with the surveys, I find them sould destroying and I still haven't managed to make any money several years in.

Have subscribed to your thread :)

Hi Runders! Thanks very much for reading and subscribing! I have my spreadsheets and calendar to thank for my organisatio! I suppose it is also because I find shopping quite stressful and don't enjoy it very much so I find buying a few things at a time spread over a few months alot easier!
Yeah I think I am quite a patient person really, well in some things! Lol! I find alot of people don't believe me when I say I can spend all day doing surveys! Unless you've tried it you can never understand how long they can take!

    Take care

I find surveys can be both soul destroying and useful - I go through periods of hating them, but payout does ease the pain! And these days I only do the ones I want to do - nothing that's 20 mins long is going to keep my attention! I looove the Ginger C0mms ones - always short, even if the options for answers are sometimes ridiculous!
