Congrats on the job Catherine!! I would work on a farm anyday than sat in a boring office. I used to be a BT telephonist before I had the kids dealing with all things international and connecting calls all over the world.
To start with the job was really interesting but once you knew what you were doing.......the days just dragged soooo much.
Got back into catering to fit in with kids needs and have never got out of it. I have bad days but generally enjoy my job and the hours fly past. Just wish it was a bit better paid. :cool:Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -

I've never had a job where I wasn't working face to face with people. I know some could be stroppy and difficult but there were few dull moments:rotfl:
Having said that, now I'm retired and when I was working part-time, I've delivered Phone Books and Yellow Pages for a week each every year. That's not exactly face-to-face work. I know I complain every time and say 'never again' as doing it in a rural area can be a real trial but I'm gutted that next year will be the very last printing of Yellow Pages:mad:. The money wasn't much but it certainly helped.
Congratulations on your job, Catherine:beer:0 -

Yes working with the public certainly shows you all sides of humanity.
We have lots and lots of regulars that have come to the restaurant for years and are like old friends. Its a pleasure to look after them but you will always get some people that no matter what you do for them.......it will never be enough and unfortunately these people are the ones that stick in your mind after a long day.
Im pretty sure any customer facing role has the same challenges.Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -
Strangely enough CBC - you and your delivery work were the first things I thought of when I heard that the Yellow pages were being discontinued. Sorry one of your streams of income is vanishing - sign of the times I suppose, though at least you'll have one more year

Yes!! I also thought of CBC Sad really but those bottomless sheds are going to keep her going for a while yet.Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -
Well having my referral for lucky leftovers on 2 blogs is working. I'm getting a few referrals trickling through
Cashed out today but they have done an odd amount instead of the full round figures0 -

Sadly, the bottomless sheds are full of OH's junk not mine:(. Every so often he unearths something that he asks me if I can sell for him (and to give him his due he says he'll split the proceeds or even let me keep all the money I might make) but invariably it's total rubbish and I wouldn't have a clue who to try to sell it to:eek:. I've tried so often to sell the few items he's been prepared to part with, it's a losing battle.
My own stuff is a slightly better class of tat so I might come up with something saleable in my own shed but even that's looking more empty by the day.;). He sometimes comes up with something of mine buried amongst his rubbish, like the bow and other archery stuff, but such finds are very few and far between:(0 -
