I often have a quick glance at the day's court listing, helpfully produced by the BMPA on a daily basis, and I'm starting to think that the number of cases are reducing slightly. Today's listing:

It might be an interesting exercise to get a daily figure to see how the pattern emerges (no need for a continuing copy and paste of the whole list - unless there's anything particularly interesting in it). So I'll start the ball rolling with today's figure.

    Courts rightly or wrongly take the view that PE won't make mistakes and defences are struck out, especially those that mention GPEOL.

    Other courts rightly or wrongly think BW/Gladstones are shysters and claims are struck out early.

    Manchester for example appears to have gone quiet as has Clerkenwell which might explain the drop.

    I do get the impression there are less PE claims around though; a lot less reported here now.

    A lot of these end up as undefended wins for the claimant.

    But in the words of a certain Mr Bargepole who said "Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while", a squirrel was successful at Bradford today (v- Excel).

    What was missing in terms of legal skills was more than compensated for by tenacity and the knowledge Excel were wrong.

    Do most of these cases lose? I guess some we will never know unfortunately! Just looking at the raw numbers and thinking what (if any) of these succeed for the PPCs.
