as the title says really. If I can, do I have to cook it first then freeze it or will it freeze ok raw?

I don't think it would freeze raw, but I would boil it with some potatoes and then mash them together. I have frozen it like this on top of a shepherd's pie.0

i always roast mine then freeze it but then i only make roasted celeriac soup with it

Why not check out https://www.jackbuck.co.uk. Operating not far from me, they are the UK's biggest grower of celeriac and have a number of recipes and other information on their webpage.
I know one of their employees personally and his favourite way to use celeriac is to make chips and/or thick crisps with it.0 -
