I am soon to get a lump sum off one of my OH friends(woo-hoo)
Anyway to get to my point,is there anything I can do to get them to settle for less than the total amount due
Due I just ask them or do I wait until a certain time - maybe near christmas?
Any advice would be very much appreciated

Get who to settle for less than amount owed? Your friend? Surely you'd want everything that is owed? Wouldn't you?
Sorry, but I am confused!
:heartpuls CG :heartpulsEver wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0 -
If you mean a reduced amount to your debt then yes you can ask for a full and final settlement figure. Assuming you haven't been making the full amount each month or regular payments then you will quite likely get a reduced total. If you pay on time and the required amount every month there is no harm in asking but I'd be surprised if they accept.0
