The car is gone, paperwork sent off, and money now in the vet fund.DH was quick to get the garden sorted and grass seed down where the car had been rested.

I went from work to hospital and spent time with DF, the nurses were lovely and know me now.

Straight out to Lidl as we need some bits,

A very very late dinner of a burger just eaten, because I needed to eat rather than enjoyed.

Trying to catch up with jobs and socialising this week while sons are away. Pleasures for today:

    1) A lie in.

    2) Hens very well.

    3) Had an omelette for lunch with courgette and chard followed by large raspberries (also from allotment) and yoghurt.

    4) Painted the newly plastered stair and landing walls. Took 2 hours just for the mist coat.

    5) Sensible chat with a doctor about smaller son. He does not get on well talking to them so he has been referred straight to a physiotherapist without needing to see the dr first.

    6) Have finally finished all holiday washing (including 30 pairs of socks), normal washing and all the sheets.

    7) Was told by the owner of my allotment yesterday that there is an archaeology group about to do some archaeology in the next village. Emailed them earlier and it's a very professional set up so I'll (hopefully) be working with them on Wednesdays after the school holidays!

    8) An exciting evening... local town (art deco cinema town, no less) had a free screening of Casablanca, first come, first served - if you got there at 5.30. So I was 3rd in the queue, got my tickets, ate a Chinese takewaway in the car, found a geocache up the road then watched the film!

    9) Drove to see sons and drop off a food parcel.

    10) In bed now and about to watch Who Do You Think You Are.

Busy day tomorrow too - going to see an aunty, have my hair cut, then visit a former colleague. Then will tidy up and do more painting as another former colleague is coming round on Friday morning!

Hoping CCP reads this, as I remember her updates about fog horns...

On holiday last week, we went to Lizard Point and looked round the light house and fog horn. To be fair, we do not live particularly close to the coast.

Sons studied the fog horn at some length. Smaller son was worried it would go off at any minute.

Bigger son then said, "When does the fog come out of it?" I said, "Erm... what?!" Bigger son said, "Surely the fog it makes is a side effect of the noise?" :-D

They had no idea it made a noise to warn sailors where the land was IF there was fog! It tickled me for ages.

Phew another great day of sorting
    1) dd2 has sorted her clothes - gbf and I took 4 humongous bags to CS so they can cheer 2 more people - the person who buys them and the person who benefits from the money
    2) all food cupboards and freezer sorted and fridge cleaned. Very nice feeling, and we have space rather than shelves bulging so we couldn't see what we had
    3) all games moved to top of new cube shelves in office and music books moved to cupboard in the music room. Makes so much sense no idea why we didn't do it before!
    4) dd1 cooked lish curry for tea (we finished her lish soup for lunch)
    5) another 20 mins on the exercise bike
Back to work tomorrow as the dean is coming to see us and I still have some moderating to do. I've got Friday on my mind

Oh, don't worry dear chums, KW is *my idea of* the PERFECT man - he loves going for a mooch around Ikea, and John Lewis Home and M&S and and and, but the best is....Waterstones or any bookshop :) Swoon is not strong enough a word for how fab it is to spend time with him :)xxxxx

    1. I finally feel I have "my" classroom rather than the most rubbish room in the school, with 49 dictionaries (DD counted them!) and a load of tat.

    2. KW and DD helped me move furniture, stick up displays, rearrange books and clear out a load of rubbish this afternoon. I'm delighted with the results and might even feel able to get on with a little bit of proper planning now!!

    3. The sun shone :)

    4. The three of us had such a fun time, chatting, being silly, working our socks off. It was so nice to feel relaxed and happy with the pair of them. They get on so well and it's such a relief! He's just got the hurdle of meeting my parents over the bank holiday now....fingers crossed they like him so that my life isn't punctuated by unwelcome comments thereafter....

    5. After our labours, we went and ate scrumptious Italian using a Groupon for 2 of us, and KW paid for the third meal, which was supposed to be my job, to say thank you!

Lost a post last night. Probably too tired too concentrate.

    1. Good day at work. A few of us are having similar problems and are unhappy there. It's nice to talk about it with others.

    2. A tax rebate cheque. Put into savings to fund early retirement.u

    3. Reading my book on the way to work on the bus.

    4. A glass of wine in the garden with DH to celebrate

    5. A friend is engaged. I've been waiting for the announcement for a while. She has had a tough few years and am really pleased for her. He seems really good for her and she is so happy and her health has improved dramatically.

Work : love a Thursday. So busy it just whizzes by. DD1 popped in to say hello on her way to uni.

Home: continuing to sort. Moved all plant pots out to driveway to hopefully sell ...I look like a small plant nursery. Took 3 lavender plants down to neighbours.

Lunch with son in between sorting and humphing plants.

Picked up DD2 at school to go to GP. Sat & waited nearly an hour but it was free! free! Free! With our new health care card. Took some coverless puzzle books for the waiting room.

Missed the downpour of rain whilst in at GP ,glad I brought my washing in before I went out.

    Have a good day

Millwrights absence is being harsh. Usual !!!!!!!!!!s on the M40 are offering peanuts again! Maybe when I want to put my feet up, I would consider getting out of bed for them. Then, maybe an ice lolly and the beach would be more fruitful. In other words, the answer to them was fourth, multiply and off!

5 Oh look see, forty one years since BoP went to college on his apprentice lead in curse! The people that are incapable of doing engineering are getting a piece of paper that entitles them to servitude and debt. Now there is no love lost there as BoP does not like educationalists! Now UCAS. That so called charity that turns dreams sour. When I did enterprise Ayrshire and my final year, all in the same breath, got into a university curse, I had to fill out one of these so called charity forms! They rang back and said not only did I not put any A things on it. I said yes dear, quite correcto mundo. I have not got any! Then you cant go on that curse. I corrected them and said look at the form. £4 of my money that could had been liquidated and ten seconds of my time coring them wasted!

4 Sits in the corner reading another mailshot cv from an over educated graduate with a masters something in management wanting to be an engineer, but failed physics at O level! And continued to fail until aged 23! No I am afraid you’re not going to be an engineer, the school took money off you to fill their seat. I would go back and sue you’re career advisor instead!

3 With that, BoPsie found a wolf in the conservatory last night, and she went out and got me a hen and a fury to go with it. Wobbleade was scoured and pork pie, two nights on the trot were taken watching the cricket! Tum was rubbed vigorously.

2 Night BoP is out with the team as we are on self infused gloating session down the wobblade emporium. Curry will also be taken. B team are in attendance as well, they have worked so hard at the coal face and not shipped away doing nothing. Except, as readers of BoPs adventures on Biosphere 1 will note. My team is the one that fires up the furnaces and tickles the parts others cannot reach. Ladies are are advised not to attend as this could be …

Caution, BoP is heading for the lash!

Edit. I has bin corrected in my fort! I will now call them cheap skates instead of 3 low ders!

    1) DD1s AS and A level class results were all OK thank goodness, some of them hadn't quite got the grades they were predicted but ALL of them have their first choice of Uni places and all are accepted.

    2) Trip to Ikea this morning and as I went early not too congested but by 12.30 home was calling loudly.

    3) Lovely sunny day here now after a damp start, if anything slightly too warm!

    4) Lunch out, soup and a salad, very nice.

    5) Bought another 100 tea lights, love candlelight in the drawing in evenings.
