Anyone with a grain of sense would immediately notice the difference in interior, looks and driving between a Toyota Avensis and Lexus IS250.
Actually, there are several JDM Toyotas based on the same RWD platform, sharing many components and using the same engine and gearbox as the IS.0 -

I know Lexus are owned by Toyota but this doesn't mean that a Toyota Avensis is exactly the same car as a Lexus IS250. VW own Buggati, but that certainly does not mean that VW shares components with the Veyron.
The IS250 and Toyotas are built in different factories and most of the parts are different.0 -

as long as you are happy with your purchase that's all that matters....outside validation of your purchase is not needed........
.....oh wait, you obviously do need it as you posted here!0 -
Which means the reg shown on that page (HL51NAP) is a subsititute and not real? (51 plate is new from September 2001).0

As you said previously you got the private sale price for the Yaris. You've still paid a lot for a mid range IS.0 -

I don't understand why people have to express their negativity at my purchase. I am happy with my Lexus and that's all that matters. If someone else bought a car that they like, I would not comment in a judgmental or negative manner, subtlety attempting to attack their purchase.
I didn't come here for advise on whether I should buy this car, I had already made my decision.0
