Demand for payment from cold call company

Options
Hi all, I'm not sure if this is the correct thread but my wife received a today from a solicitor following a cold call due to a car accident in her works car.
My wife reluctantly said to start a claim but only because they had phoned loads of time and did not take no for an answer.

I remember my wife saying if I cancel the claim will I be liable to pay and they said no.

After she cancelled because her work was dealing with the claim.

They have now sent a letter saying she needs to pay an unknown amount as they have not said how much within 7 days or they will take further action.

How do I stop this?

Thank

You see in order to take you to court, they would need to have written evidence of a contract between you and them, as no such contract exists, there is nothing they can do, it's the usual ploy from these ambulance chasers.

Write and tell them your not paying anything, you didn't sign anything, so no legal contract exists.

Stay off the phone to them.

Ask on legal beagles for more detailed advice :
