and I find i'm still weak! So thought maybe if I started a thread, I could read back and maybe motivate myself more.

Popped into asda this afternoon cos the fridge was bare, 20 later, but i did get enough to see us through till shopping day next wed. Bought one of their meal deal dinners to try, main, side dish and pudding for 6. It's to feed 4, and my toddler and baby don't eat loads, so thats 2 days worth of dinner for 3 a day. I still need to get used to this budgeting....must try harder.
Then had to get a birthday pressie for my friend's little girl, so that was 11.94 inc delivery but i got 10 nice books for that. I know she has two of them already, so i will give her 5 of them and put the others away for my kids for xmas.
Getting my haircut at the college tomorrow, so thats another 3.60, but i have budgeted for all these, so don't feel so bad.

Excuse my ramblings, i can see that again, i'm trying to justify my spending. So time to put my purse in the cupboard and try and have a thrifty weekend.

So it's been a few months. Things have been really tough, with OH hospitalised a few times over. However, I have continued to try and stay on track. Today i updated our budget and have realised that on a single salary i can pay a little extra. So our debt has dropped below 16k and i have knocked 11 months off our final payment date. 3.5 years left, and I am adamant that i can get this lower faster.
Need to start meal planning better but i know the basics and can stick to them.

So it's been a year since i last posted. Just updated the budget and we should be debt free by 2018. It's been a really hard slog, OH still not working cos mentally he can't cope. We've had family bereavement and I've started going to counselling to cope with all the stress. However the end is slowly coming into sight. Hopefully I will get a payrise next year and we can trim back to april 2018 for our end date.
Staying positive but need to get my budget pants on again! L2B.x

    Hi!
Sorry to hear of all the stresses you've had to go through- gotta be tough. But you have shown that no matter what life decides to throw you you can keep on track with your debts and there is light at the end of the tunnel!!
Well done for how far you've come! And good luck on the rest of your journey xxx

Considering all the obstacles you have had, you are continuing to do a great job getting this debt down. Just need to keep your end goal in mind and think what a difference it will make to your life. I hope things pick up and that debt free date may be closer than you think. X

Thanks guys. Just realised this morning that we have only a quarter of our debt left to pay. Sorry for gushing but it is a little exciting that we are getting there. 8 years down the line and we can finally see the light. L2B.x
