Is there no one to help him?

If there isn't, there used to be some provision to help/run these package of support, I am assuming that there is similar provision.

It does raise the importance of planning, and having things like power of attorney in place before you need it x

Power of attorney was his dad, his brother is sorting it out now but its not pratical as he lives a 130 odd miles away, although all accounte were made joint dad/son even dads accounts

Good idea, especially if in a primary school (at least the kids are semi-nice).

I have looked at that tweets. ;) I don't really want to be tied to everyday of the week term time though. :o With DD1 living so far I would still like to be able to go and stay at drop of a hat.

It feels like such a big step but I know have been putting it off for far too long now. :(

I hadn't 'worked' for 13 years, but went into it with the attitude that I didn't even want the job!! I told them that I only wanted certain hours as we're still home edding 2 young 'uns. I go every shift thinking that I'll leave at the first sign of hassle, but seem to be living a bit of a charmed life there,so I'll keep going for another few months!!! It makes me feel in control knowing I can walk out.:rotfl:

my ideal job would be working in a library I think :)

TS don't be scared. You will know if a job is right for you. I'm scared to put my own wheelie bin out but I've found a job I can do & it's changed my life. I'm not lonely anymore xx
Cherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.

No matter how you feel, get up, dress up & never give up.

What about setting up a small business which you can work around RL?

    Or doing some agency work....:o

My favourite job of all time was doing some agency work in a hostel for women... I have very limited experience but I loved it
