I got paid yesterday and it was also my 30th birthday and I am so happy that yesterday I am now debt-free! I just paid off my last bill so in total I have paid off £6k since October so now money I am putting aside is actual savings for a house deposit!
Sorry to boast on here, but I don't think anyone I know thinks that debt-free is that important!
Thanks everyone

My method is to calculate my total balance across all music accounts and deduct my starting balance. That's my year-to-date figure. I use 'contributions' as opposed to 'balance' for my nutmeg account because of the potential for value changes in the underlying funds, and I don't count my current account.#145 Save £12k in 2016 Challenge: £12,062.62/£12,000.00 Beginning Balance: £5,027.78 CHALLENGE MET

Do you guys track all saving in this challenge?
I know it's kind of a personal choice thing but I'm not sure what to do about my Rainy Day Funds.
What do you lovely lot do?
Hi ya, I have a RDF as well but don't count it (even though it's built up to in excess of £3k over the last few years and I've saved more than I've spent). I'm building it up with a view to upgrading my car once it gets to a big enough figure and I work out what I want, but it's also there for unexpected expenses and hopefully a nice holiday or two, whereas the long term savings will (hopefully) continue to go up indefinitely with a view to using it for something more significant such as our next house move, sometime in the next decade.
There are no hard and fast rules regarding how long, long-term savings are for this thread. If you're confident that you won't be spending out of your RDF this year, then count it. If there's a chance you will be spending out of it then I would say don't count it, otherwise there's the possibility of having to post a negative figure, especially if the expense is a big one.£12k in 2019 #084 £3000/£3000
