I think I was mis-sold the value of a degree and the positive effect it can have on your earning capacity.
But I have hope!!
at least that student loan will get written off after a few years:)Martin has asked me to tell you I'm about to cut the cheese, pull my finger.0 -
Recruitment, 21k, it sucks but it's a job
Also work for Lionbridge part time which brings in an extra bit each month
In between I do promo jobs and some other little bits and peices.
I graduated from a very good university in 2003, and have never used my degree in any job, never even had it as a requirement (even in my senior position within a top 100 blue chip sales co!). It was interesting, but not worth the paper it's written on (unless you're willing to work for peanuts on graduate starting salaries);)The only thing we know for sure, is that we know nothing0 -
Scientist, 30k a year.
Perks include a good pension and lots of flexibility in terms of working hours. I come and go as I please but the work always has to get done.
I am 38, so I kind of feel I have failed in my career. I know people who have become professors at a younger age than I am now, earning twice my salary.0 -
Just a quick update no luck with the interview so still on £0 salary, but I guess I'm that one step closer now to getting a "+" on the salary front. Thanks for the good luck messages.0
