Not much to report, had a few days off after I've completed my night shifts. only spent limited amount from a list £13, bread potatoes (crisps) and Veggie things... DD2 has decided to become vegetarian. No problem with this other than her fussiness and laziness and cost ... no beans/pulses and her regular demands for pasta!! used to be bacon butties

I'm wondering about child benefit. It certainly will stop this year, just a question of when.... the website says if still in school 31st May then it will be paid until 31st August. So with exams finishing 17th June I'm hopeful to still get it until August. Checked the account yesterday and it has more than my early finish guestimate... so looking positive for August..

Now I was saving this for DD2 before I knew she was getting student loans... her bl!nking rudeness the other week made me want to keep it.. May do half and half.. if she ever gets a job. She has an application in a local care home since November!! apparently she still has to interview, CRB equivalent sent this week.. not looking promising :o

Got an email yesterday from @irbnb asking me to change settings back to single night stays. thought I'd wing it a bit longer as French intern doesn't leave until 3rd July. Booking today 5 nights :D

£27 spent on fresh things this week total £167 on food this month.
    further £10 spent on toiletries

OH took me to a local wine bar for tapas yesterday as his payday... his turn to Pay £52!! he wasn't impressed :D:D

My payday next wed , working until Tuesday when we are off to Manchester to see Lionel Richie, my xmas present :D OH had booked hotel and paid deposit, I'm not sure how it worked but last month they informed him cost was triple what he expected, so downgraded to Campanile still £75 for the night. When we stayed last December I paid £48..

Off to work this afternoon.. not feeling like it at all today. Yesterday was quite muh with all the doom and gloom projections for the future. Only time will tell of course... as with everything :o

Paid extra £40 off car this week and £80 OP from rent to mortgage. Wondering if I need to step up savings rather than OP... probably will do a bit of both as I'm more scared of being charged higher interest rates. I've another year of fixed rate left.

MFD - if you have one year left, have you considered fixing your rate now while rates are low?

Of course, rates may go crazy high, or could even hit near zero... but a 3% fix for another few years may treat you very well?

Either way, if your current mortgage is like mine it would cost you 1% of your current balance to move early.

Just a thought, do what's best for you :)

How you enjoying the pool? I loved the smell of chlorine when we had the hot tub!haha. Well done on getting creative and using the circular saw!

Is there a reason Airbnb are saying go back to one night? Is it just something that they like to have as an option? It sounds like people are still happy to stay with you anyways!

    Hi Brizzle :D

MvM what a fabulous idea..... had to jump to look.... the HSBC 1.99% fixed for 5 years crunched to 15 years (knocking 3 years off) and paying the same as we are paying now.. I think the costs will be lost over the 1st year or 18 months but then we have 3.5 years to make it back, plus security .. Definitely worth a play with the figures..

Jodles @irbnb probably seen we have less bookings on our current settings. however with French intern staying until Sunday (2 month stay) we are in no rush to book... we've had an enquiry for 10 night stay this morning , not sure if we are the most suitable base for them as they want to travel from crewe to here (NW) then to London... I've asked them to consider location carefully before deciding. .. As for the pool... its rained every blinking day since I put it up!! think today may be a bit too chilly to bother :o

We have a booking for a longer stay (5 nights), and 2 x 1 night. During the winter we would get people booking on a Wednesday to stay the weekend, so if by next Monday things are looking lean I can easily flip back to one night(ers), I just want to give longer stays a chance :D

Just back from Manchester after watching Lionel Ritchie... Fab night :D very expensive all in all, but saved for :D was my xmas pressie off OH.

Working OT tomorrow ... wont be off work again until a week on Saturday.. 10 shifts in 9 days... that'll keep me on the straight and narrow. :D

PAYDAY :D:D good healthy month got aa bit more than accounted for , very happy ... OP's sent, standard OP next week, Car OP sent .. minimum to 0% CC

Will replace money from holiday fund with leftovers
