Do you know what kind of help you can get if you’re having problems with your insurer?

We can help sort out problems between insurers and their customers. There’s a wide range of things we can look at:

· if you’re unhappy that your claim has been declined

· if there are errors or problems with your paperwork

· if you have problems when you’re renewing your policy

· if the repairs made to your vehicle are not satisfactory or are taking too long

· if you do not think the valuation that your insurer has given you is fair

· when your claim has been declined because your insurer says you didn’t tell them about an important bit of information at the start of the policy, such as where you park your car

· when there has been a problem or error with your no claims bonus

· general delays with your insurer relating to a claim or other issue

We know that problems with your insurer are often frustrating and can be confusing. We can help you when things have gone wrong by getting in touch with the business and working together to put things right.

Inspired by the CIA's opening tweet could you not have had a first post of simply "I can neither reject or uphold that this is our first post"
  • Hi,

Although I have never been affected by this, I do believe it is a very serious issue that the regulator has failed to get to grips on:
Why, if an insurer either refuses to renew (sometimes purely because they no longer insure in that post code, for example), or cancels a policy (maybe because of a bounced Direct Debit etc), is an individual unable to get reasonably priced insurance for the rest of their life?

Surely there is something fundamentally wrong with the system if insurers can very easily do such a thing. Future insurers often refuse to quote/quote significantly higher if someone has had a 'cancelled policy' on their record? Surely a maximum time-scale of 5 years should be introduced, or rules actually clarifying the exact rules?

    Thanks,

    Tom.
