eBay buyers - what's your usual "sort by" option?

I am interested more in Buy it Now's than auctions, but if you have different preferences for both - that would be interesting also:
Time ending soonest
Time newly listed
Price P&P highest first
Price lowest first
Price highest first
Distance nearest first
Condition New first
Condition used first
Best Match
Interestingly, my account never seems to default to "best match" which is what all the sellers aspire to get higher ranking in. hmmm. Anyway, I like to use sort by price lowest first becasue even if I'm not looking fgor the cheapest rubbish items, it gives me some sense of scale across the items.

Mine always defaults to Best Match but i use different sorting options depending on what I'm looking for.
If i'm looking for something that will be on a BIN i'll look for newly listed or lowest price.
If i'm looking for something bulky for collection i'll choose nearest distance.
If i'm looking for some generic cheapo item likely from China i'll choose lowest price + p&p.
If i'm selling an item and being hopeful about the price i'll get, i'll choose highest price and dream
Everything else i'd look at by ending soonest.Internet earnings:
Swagbucks - £748
InstaGC -£73
Nielsen Mobile - £70
Mobile Trends - £19.50
iPoll - £150 -
If I am buying a higher premium item I always look at 'completed listings' to see what prices they have been bought for previously.
It then gives me a clue of what the market price is and make sure I don't pay over the odds for it.
Generally though I sort through 'Price P&P lowest first' and take it from there.
Don't discount auctions altogether though as there are plenty of bargains to be had with some work and luck !!Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.0 -
Depends what I'm buying. Sometimes will search auctions ending soonest in a category I buy and sell in.
For an item I need at home will search best match and lowest price inc p&p. For a popular item, eg envelopes I'll search a couple of pages of best match items.
Occasionally will search local items and have also used highest price in some categories to see if there are any bulk listings.
I'd say most will use best match as they don't know any different, followed by lowest price and then ending soonest..0 -
I choose ending soonest when browsing in general.
But cheapest 1st when im going to the an item instantly with a BIN.
But it keeps changing back also.
My new pet hate.. Seller who list 3 items in one auction. So there are tons at 99p. I was after a leather phone case £2.99 upwards was my thinking. Lots came up at 99p.
But when you open the page there is a choice box. For 99p you get a USB cable. Phone cases were varied prices.
I then changed my search to ignore anything under £1. So all those listing lost out.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Exclude items from outside UK, usually exclude auctions.
then sort for cheapest, then I look at the sellers feedback to see if it's worth it!0 -
Price + P&P lowest first, always, for a BIN.
Occasionally time ending soonest for an auction if prices are all similar.0 -
Usually price incl P&P lowest first. Sometimes Best Match if it's in a category where the lowest price is heavily manipulated by multiple item listings - because the cheapest tend to rise to the top anyway. And time ending soonest if I'm searching for second hand kids clothes at 3am...They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0

I always search for 'Time ending soonest', no matter what i am buying.0

I never use Best Match.
I nearly always check nearest first & see if I can collect, then it's ending soonest or lowest price +p&p.0 -
Price P&P lowest first, for BIN then I scroll down the list to find a seller that gives me a feeling of confidence.
For some stuff I use "price highest first" especially if there is a lot of cloned tat with a similar title as it's often far quicker to scroll down from the top than up from the bottom.:)• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.0
