BT Line Problem

My BT line is dead to the ear when I pick up the phone. Digital read-out on the handset says "No Line" on all 3 x handsets. Broadband is ok, albeit a little slower than usual, family of 4 can all use .

Suggestions please? Thanks in advance.

Edit. Was thinking about the 'line gone dead' scam ding the rounds but it's been down for about 3 days?

It seems pretty obvious - your line is faulty. :)

Plug the phones directly into the master socket of your property to double-check, but the lack of dial tone and phones not seeing the line makes it self-explanatory.

A voice fault doesn't always cause broadband issues, and vice versa. Slow speed is probably down the fault causing a bit of signal loss.

    Check your line here: https://www.bt.com/consumerFaultTracking/public/faults/reporting.do?pageId=21

You could plug your phone (preferably not a cordless) into the test socket too. The test socket is behind the front plate of the master socket.
The master socket is the one with 2 halves, split horizontally with 2 screws. Undo that bit.
This will eliminate all extensions, Sky boxes and everything else people plug into their BT line!

Hope you manage to get it sorted.:)

That will be working days, so you'll need to exclude the weekend and bank holiday.

I has a similar problem. I unplugged and tested everything then did a line check. They gave me x days till it got fixed and was identified as problem at exchange. They fixed it within the half the x number of days so hope it will be same for you. Mine did fall over Easter so was impressed.
