Hi folks,
Just wondering if I will get a detailed notice of what tax I have paid in year 12/13 soon from HMRC?
I got a notice of my tax code for year 13/14 last January but owed £780 pounds in tax from an underpayment for year 11/12, most of it was paid off last year but still have £288 to pay this year 13/14.
I was on taxable incapacity benefit and and a occupational pension and on my p60 from the benefits office it does say that I paid £70 in tax from my IB last year 12/13.
I just want to make sure that HMRC are calculating this £70 when doing my underpayment, that is why I am wondering will I get a further letter from HMRC soon giving me a detailed breakdown of what tax I paid last year 12/13?
Thanks for any info.

They only normally send you a detailed breakdown if there is an under or overpayment. Your P60s should give you a comprehensive record of tax paid. Failing that call the PAYE helpline and request an PAYE history for the year on a source by source basis - if you have a fax machine ask them to use that, otherwise it takes up to 14 days.0

HMRC recently started automatic calculation of 12/13 and apparently hope to have all done by some time in October. That's providing they have all the information to do so.
If you think you are due a refund get in contact with them yourself if only to check that they have received all your P45's and P60's.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
By law all employers must provide you with a form P60 by 31st May.0

Useful to know that.
The OP has a P60 already.0 -

He's got a P60 from DWP, but he hasn't said whether he's received one for his occupational pension yet.0 -
Thanks for replies everybody, Yes I have received both the occupational pension and benefits p60's and everything seems in order tax wise.
What I am enquiring about is as I am still paying off an underpayment for year 11/12 (paid part of it through my occupational pension in year 12/13) and the tax man estimated in august 12 that I would only have £280 left to pay in current year 13/14, and has started taking it every month from my occupational pension.
My benefits p60 show that £70 or so was taken in tax from it in year 12/13 and I was just wondering if the taxman would do a further calculation this current year taking into consideration that £70 that was paid, and maybe then that would reduce the £280 underpayment by £70?
Probably maybe best to call them.
Thanks again

I've received my P60 and after using the tax return calculator, I've noticed that I overpaid for 2012/2013.
Do I have to wait for them or call them to claim my overpayment? I called HMRC and the automated voice said that I have to allow 4 weeks before claiming my tax.0 -
It should normally sort itself out, you get issued with a P800 with a cheque attached.
If you're sure you have definitely overpaid, you can always download an R40 return from HMRC and fill it out. What was your final tax code?0
