DH's payday tomorrow

Actually...when is everyone getting paid this month? I get paid once on the 20th and again on the 21st (2nd job) but then it's a loooooooooooooooooooooong month...I'm really pleased DH gets paid on the 6th nowadays for this reason. Oh and then no council tax for 2 months which is like an extra payday I should go to 12 monthly smaller payments for CT but I love the 2 months off That's almost 200 bonus for Jan and Feb!

Are you going to pay it towards your debt or have a splurge?
I think I'll get paid on the 18th this month as normal pay day is 25th of the month. I'm still on the sick, on bed rest and no driving for weeks so I've had loads of NSD although DH has made up for them!

Now I work with Hubby, we both get paid on the 3rd Friday of the month so it will be on the 21st this month then the 18th Jan so we're not affected by Christmas and it'll be a 4wk month too

Because we now get paid on the same day (I used to get paid last working day of the month before) His wage pays all the bills, mortgage etc. and mine covers the weekly things. It works for us but as most of the DDs go out within a week of Hubby being paid, his account always looks empty whilst I look rich (well, richer than him anyway)

I get paid on the 21st but then not again until Jan 30th We have ground rent due this month as well, no idea when we get the bill for that but that's 125 and then need to start paying our maintenance fee monthly from next month as we'd had to pay it all in one go when we moved in, that bill was a shocker

Have you had your results yet? No driving must be so frustrating! Hope you feel better soon

I think I will put it all on the debt but the car tax is due in Jan so that will eat that up for one month There's always something!!

I hope everyone gets lots of Christmas money to put on the debt to give a boost before starting next year!

No, I get my results on the 19th when I go to Cardiff to see the consultant. I love driving but I've been told I can't do it for 6 weeks, I'm counting off the days and it'll be 4 weeks left on Friday Oh well at least it'll save some petrol money

I'll get paid on the 7th and 21st December, Hubby will get paid on the 14th and 28th December.

I'm really watching for the pay days this month as my credit card bill is due payable on the 10th and then we'll be getting another one before the end of December which would be due payable in January, I'm aiming to pay the January one before the end of December so I can start the new year without any spends on the credit card. So no more spends on the credit card after the 18th, (the 19th is the cut off date). Then it's going to be cash all the way, I'm sick of getting credit card bills that make me and then

No cash = no purchase, if it comes to it Christmas dinner is going to be chicken and dessert is going to be HM fruit pie as we already have them in the freezer

It's awful and it's my Mam and I's birthdays in between this time. I have a buffer set aside but I'd rather not use it. I'm hoping that OH gets a good wage these two months as he's just started a new job and will hopefully be in 40 hours a week. It's a long time since he worked full time hours due to being off sick at his old place.

I think hubby gets paid on the 21st (1 week early) and I don't think mine will change so will be the 28th. Then in Jan, we'll both get paid on the 25th so I don't think it will seem too bad.

On the emergency/contingency funds - this is something I would love to do, but something that I've not been able due to the massive amount of debt we have. Hubby was quite ill a few years back, he needed an op and was in hospital for a week and was then signed off for 6 weeks. Even though he got some sick pay from his company and obviously some statutory too, I found it was the little extras that were costly - parking and TV at the hospital, food for his special diet when he came home etc. It really eat into my savings that I had - but were set aside for this kind of thing - but it annoys me that I haven't been able to build it back up, but I suppose I'd rather chuck everything I can at my debts and if need be borrow some money from family if anything like that were to happen again.

Fantastic

Snow has vanished now so I dragged DS to ikea (we need a blind for our spare room as my dad is coming to stay for xmas. Bought said blind for 16, lightshade for 2, some hama-beads-alike for about 6 (Last xmas pressie for DS) then a milkshake for DS for 1 as he was a very good boy. Not bad I thought! I got 2 cinammon doughnuts for 15p too!

On a lighter note it's sooooo cold! I've had the heating on for an hour now and I still feel cold and it's just got really dark outside I've had to put the lights on! Definitely feeling like it's winter now.

Note to self - "I must wash my slippers!"

I've been meaning to get my brakes done for ages, but didn't have time to get round to putting it in. Well, today I was forced to as I had some car troubles this morning... It feels like the handbrake has stuck, but I will have to wait til tomorrow to find out what's up. Lets all please keep our fingers crossed that it's not going to be anything expensive!!!

If not I'm all set to go into the bank at the weekend to reduce my overdraft enough so that both bank accounts will be in the black, at least for a few minutes seconds each month!
