Just looked down the first page and there are 2 comps, that have put the new end date, but have missed out the standard (and searchable) E: XX/XX.
Yesterday i posted a comp, and then went to do something. When i got back, because i had forgotton the new end date, it hadnt posted.
I think its great that MSE are trying to help, but unfortunately, i dont think what they have done is helpful.
If someone from MSE does read this - around the time this new end date thing was implimented, for about an hour the 'spam' button had moved a few millimeters to the left, making a very small gap between the spam and tick buttons. This was brilliant, but then it went back to normal, and im back to hitting the spam button in error again

Sorry haven't read down the whole thread but does anyone know how you change the 'end date'. I've screwed up on more than one occasion (nothing new there) and a matter of minutes ago I posted a comp with the wrong 'end date', fine in the E: title though, only noticed as I hit the submit button. I should be a better proof reader but things are a bit frantic at the minute both on the board and at home

Best thing to do is always click the 'not known' box as a large number of regular posters are doing. As this date is not searchable, not sortable and not editable it really serves no function at all, so there is no point in using it.

How desperately do you want to search -not just sort by - end date?
because if you changed the date format in the title from
E: 31/12 win this, that or the other
to Ends 31Dec12 .....
or even just
E: 31DEC12 .....
you could use the forum search to pick out all ending 31Dec12, and none other.
