TG shampoo is good for a dry sensitive scalp.

  • How long have you had the problem for and what have you tried ?

T-gel is a possibility or possibly polytar shampoo.

Both products available from your local pharmacy.

I have had this problems for 2 years, tried all sorts of different shampoos etc.... including polytar and tg shampoo none of them worked for me. The itching got so bad that i was ending up with like little scabs where i had scratched so hard and cut my scalp!!

I found a sunsilk shampoo for itchy/sensitive scalp and it has worked wonders for me!!! It is not that expensive and can normally be found on some kind of offer BOGOF or 3 for 2.

    Hope That Helps :)

I find that if I use any shampoo that has panthenol in it, my scalp itches.

Never used to have a problem but I think maybe constant use of the years has developed a sensitivity of some sort.

Most middle range shampoos have this ingredient in them and it's surprisingly difficult to find a shampoo without. Some of the cheapest supermarket shampoos have been ok though.

Many hairdressers will tell you to use a cheap shampoo but a good conditoner. Too many shampoos rely on 'plasticisers' to make the hair smooth and shiney and it's these that cause the problems half the time.

Holland and Barrett sell Teetree shampoo and conditioner this may help.

It may be worth a trip to the doctors just to make sure every thing is alright.

  • On a different thread some time ago someone recommended Aveda Scalp Tonic - apparently it worked like magic for the sort of problem you have described. Sorry, am being a bit lazy by not looking for the thread for you, but thought I'd pass on the advice anyway, even if it's not the cheapest solution.
  • I have really bad exzema on my scalp, i use a shampoo i think its called 'alphosil' you can get it on prescription but its proably cheaper to but in Boots. Its in a white bottle and its not with the normal shampoos, try with the medicated ones.
    hope this works for you

divadee funny you should mention Sunsilk, I clicked a banner the other day that took me to the website and I noticed that range, I cheekily emailed them asking for a sample, but they said they dont do sample sizes so could not help me
