bmw 318i se good deal or not ?
hi guys
I have paid deposit for a BMW 318 i SE , 4 door saloon , W Reg (2000) , 1895 cc, with 66000 miles , Red color from an independent dealer in poole who owns two garages. I have paid 200 pounds deposit already. He will sell the car to me for 5800 pounds. Extras : Full Service, Valeting, RAC check, HPI check , 6 months warranty (excludes electrics), and fixing two faults I picked up, accelerator cable and windows sealing rubber on passenger door missing at a small 2cm space.
The car is in pristine condition outside and inside, with grey cloth seats and wooden trim. No rust below or on the engine. On looking at the previous owners I found that the first owner is registered as a company. Second owner is an individual. The first 3 services are full bmw , the last 3 services are bmw specialists. The car has full service history. The car comes with central locking, traction control, fog lights, electric windows, adjustable steering, adjustable seats, 6 speed manual gear box, climate control, radio cassette player, air bags, immobiliser, anti theft system, remote boot unlocking. The tyres were all good except one which might need a change at 2000-3000 miles or so (Pirelli) (front right). the car has alloys.
driving it was rattle free, good clutch , good brakes, the accelerator cable was the only issue as the pedal would give resistance in beginning and then give way giving rise to a small jerk. I got the dealer to drive for me and even he had the same problem on one occasion although the ride with him was smoother.
The dealer has said that should he have any problems with the RAC inspection he will give my deposit back to me.
He is not paying the road tax for the car. (175 pounds ).
Is this a good deal from the above description. I have been searching auto trader and parkers for a while , and I felt that this was one so I got it. Should I haggle a little more or am I beyond that point (first time car buyer , but been driving cars for ages).
Is this a reasonable deal or not.

Excluding adjustments for mileage then parkers recommended forecourt price of £6,500 (private sale of £5-6k)All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

I am not an expert on BMW but this seems like a good deal to me.
I probably should not say so on this forum but my main criteria when buying a car is not always the price!!I am more interested in condition and you seem to have found a good one which also seems to be priced right.
As you have paid a deposit,i agree that you have left it a bit late to try and get anything else out of the seller. However you have to bear in mind there is only so much profit in the deal,so you may not have got anything else anyway.
I hope you enjoy your new car:D
