After subjecting my OR to a few early discharges, she's got her own back by giving me one. I was due to be discharged in December anyway, but it's nice to come out the other side.
It's a strange feeling really, as I haven't really encountered any problems since becoming bankrupt. I now feel a little bit like a prisoner who's just been released. The relief comes more from the fact that there aren't going to be any awkward questions, or nervous openings of envelopes from the Insolvency Service.
My main reason for posting this is to thank everyone who's given me any advice, because without this place, I really don't know how I'd have coped, particularly in the initial stages. For those about to embark on the process; don't worry. They never found out about my liking for 19yr old Brazlian prostitutes, and they're not out to get you. The year goes very quickly.

I've started going through the excellent advice about cleaning up my credit file, and I snuck a look at my credit score. I assumed it would be as low as possible, but it's in the "fair" category. I was gobsmacked.
Don't worry - I've no intention of getting any sort of debt in the forseeable future. The feeling of not being in debt is almost too good for words.0 -

just to add my two penn'orth, for the benefit of lurkers....the OR will NOT leave a BR without the wherewithall to live...and at a reasonable level of comfort, either.....
[depends on what lifestyle one had become accustomed to, though, I suppose?]
I looked forward to IS letters, as they usually meant good things, in my favour.
If they DO want more money off a BR, then it wont be as if the BR cannot afford it...and is subject to objection/argument anyway.
remember, debts have been wiped....so all that's left are normal living expenses...the chance to start with a clean slate?
If these prove difficult to achieve, then , for an earner, its surely time to re-assess one's lifestyle choices?
