Default Free Haircut from handbag.com

http://www.handbag.com/competitions-...14/competition

Find out if there is a salon in your area http://www.hairgroup.co.uk/ and send in the form on the link. You will be contacted within 60 days. Closing date for coupons is 31/03/2010

Terms & Conditions
Offer includes a free cut and finish (blow dry) only. Any additional services taken up will be charged at normal rate by the salon. The salon has the right to choose the level of technician who will carry out the service as well as the day of the week that the reader can take up the offer. No more than one Hair Group voucher per person can be redeemed within a 12 month period. Appointments during busy periods (eg Christmas) may be subject to additional restrictions and therefore lead to increased waiting times. Entrants must be over 18 years of age and UK residents. There is no cash alternative. Once allocated to a salon the voucher is valid for 3 months. All entries must be on original coupon vouchers. No photocopies accepted. Incorrectly completed, photocopied, damaged or defaced coupon vouchers will not be accepted. Entrants will be contacted within 30 days of receipt of details by any form of communication The Hair Group deems appropriate. Proof of posting will not be accepted as proof of receipt. A journey time of up to 45 minutes in some areas of the UK may be necessary to the nearest salon. All Hair Group salons trade under their own names and are independent companies.
Some salons do not offer afro services. Although we have a large quantity of salon members throughout the UK we are unable to guarantee availability for each region. However, consumer details will be kept on record and will be contacted when a salon is recruited to The Hair Group within the promotional period. Please note, not all salon areas listed take part in the full "free haircut offer". The Hair Group and its promotional partners are not responsible for any services provided in its members' salons. The offer is subject to availability and the promoter reserves the right to substitute this offer for an alternative of equal or greater value. The voucher cannot be resold. No in-salon purchase is necessary. The offer may not be exchanged or transferred. Some salons may require a fully refundable booking deposit. Abuse towards staff at your allocated salon will not be tolerated. Should such instances appear, salons have the right to refuse appointments and not rearrange. For full up-to-the-minute Terms & Conditions, please visit www.hairgroup.co.uk For questions regarding your entry, please contact The Hair Group on 0844 884 4000

Is it just me or when you bring up a map to find the salon in your area it doesn't show where it is? It doesn't have the full postcode either so I don't know how to find out where it is lol. :S

Just found this on the website, didn't realise it didn't give locations, sorry.

The purpose of this website is to indicate where (geographically) the nearest participating salon is. Due to confidentiality we cannot divulge full details of the top salons we have as members.
As these salons are very busy and we're giving away a stunning offer, all contact must start with the coupon coming to us here in Watford. The way our promotions work is that you send in the coupon and the computer locates your nearest salon. That salon will then get your details and call you to book you in. But please do use this website to check by county as to which areas have a participating salon. When we receive the coupon we'll process it for you. If you want to be allocated to a salon near work - please include the address of your workplace on a separate piece of paper accompanying the coupon.

I've applied for a haircut with The Hair Group before via a magazine promo and never heard back from them. The Hair Group seem a bit useless to me, I wouldn't get my hopes up!

I had a good haircut from them but lots of people didn't get replies.
I suspect the salons are not under obligation, so will use it to "fill up" when they aren't busy. So again, don't hold your breath.

i applied for a haircut via a magazine promo too just recently. Left it bout 2 months and had no reply. so i foned them. the girl searched for my details and said that they had sent my details to the salon 2 weeks after receiving my coupon. she then told me the name and tel of the salon so i could call them and ask what is going on.

I called them and they said they did have my details but they only bring in a couple of freebies a week. so as i foned she asked me did i want to book it there and then, so it did. got my free haircut in 2 weeks.

if you dont hear back you just need to chase it up.

Default Had a great free haircut!

I just wanted to report something positive about The Hair Group!

I sent off a Sainsbury's magazine offer for a half price hair cut a few months ago (so I can't get this one too - gutted!) and the salon rang within about 3 days. We made an appt straight away and I was in within the week. The hairdresser was excellent, the best I've had for a long while, and I'd happily go back to her again. Instead of getting a half price haircut though, it was free! (I didn't question it, just left rather quickly)

I suppose this is why they do it. When it works it's great!

Sorry, though, to all of you who haven't managed to get the deal.

what a complete con, I sent a vocuher to The Hair Group about 4 months ago and heard nothing. I contacted them a few weeks back and they said they still hadn't got a hairdresser near to me (I live in Blackpool).

I contacted them today about this offer and they said the nearest hairdresser to me is North Wales?!

Total con and mis leading!

Their shops have a 'P' (for Pantene!) on the map when you key in your address, so I guess you pretty much have the street and if you need to research can see how many hairdressers are in it with loads of Pantene products, but I am not even getting the coupon when I try and print off at present. It does say that if you include the address of your workplace (so that could mean say using an address in Central London and having you hair cut on a visit) on a separate piece of paper they will try and accommmodate you. It isn't a con, there are just so many people wanting a freebie of course but it is possible the salons mostly operate in particular cities. NB Have just found the coupon on the second print page, so off we go!

I've applied 3 times for this, only once got a haircut. I was very pleased with the one I had though.

My husband bought me a £30 "haircut experience" voucher from Boots for one of my Christmas presents last year and it was with this same group. I had to ring and chase it but once I did they gave me details of the salon and I rang and arranged an appointment for within a couple of weeks - apparently the salon did not know there was any difference between my paid for voucher and the free haircuts they offer. The haircut was lovely and I would have gone there again but even the junior stylist who did my hair charges £32.50 for a cut and finish which is out of my price range.

So, leave it the 60 days it mentions in the offer and then ring them and you should hopefully get things moving. Bear in mind that the salons get paid absolutely nothing for doing this (not even with my paid voucher!) as presumably it will possibly bring new business so if you are happy with your haircut then tip what you can afford (I gave her £5). These salons are top-end (mine was anyway) so the haircut should be a good one, even with a junior stylist.

Don't blame me - I voted Tory!

I see that as more a positive about the salon themselves not the Hair Group. I have had three different salons in my city join up and ditch them as fast, a salon owner friend says she would get hooked in with themat all. I have been given a voucher via Buyagift and cant get my hair done at all locally.

Also slightly unnerving is the salon owner I know says they dont put their top stylists on Hair Group clients, it will be a junior stylist maybe only having a few months experience, a bit of a con if its been bought as a gift by somebody rather than a freebie, though free or not you should surely think a salon would promo their service and maybe gain a potential customer.
