Hi everyone.
My point about "Weight Loss Recipe Threads" on Old Style has ALWAYS been that they should contain recipes.
Unfortunately, sometimes within a matter of hours the recipe post(s) is drowned in all the other weight watching matters such as how many points is a slice of roast armadillo? Where so I find codes for SW? I feel grotty today so please gimme a hug! Is purple spotted seaweed available in Tesco's?
Every thread. Every time. Without fail.
ALWAYS.
There really is a great support thread on I Wanna - so for support PLEASE go there.
So...
..I'll start a "Recipe Collection" thread but it will be on the understanding that it is a "Recipe Collection Thread" ONLY and nothing else. As in our main Recipe Collection thread any post which is not a recipe will be removed.
Please remember too, to respect copyright and not to quote recipes wholesale from other sources. Please read the sticky on Copyright

a recipe given to me by a fellow WW is for cheese and herb chicken.
Basically you slice your chicken breast almost in half, put a big spoonful of very low-fat garlic and herb soft cheese in the middle. Wrap a couple of turkey rashers around it (you could use bacon but turkey rashers have less points!), wrap it tightly in foil and stick it in the oven for about half an hour. I put it in with some Butternut Squash cut into small wedges, squirted with spray oil and sprinkled with dried herbs and then do random fresh veg.
On WW Full Choice this whole meal is 3.5 points (would probably be 4 or 4.5 with real bacon) - bargain!
The very low fat flavoured soft cheese is always a bit of a life saver to me. It's also really nice with pasta. I just cook the pasta and stir in a tin of tomatoes and a tablespoon of the cheese. Makes a really creamy tomato sauce.0 -

Spicy BNS Stew
Ingredients - totalling 6 points if on WW
1 onion, chopped - 0 points
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper - 0 points
knuckle of freshly grated ginger - 0 points
Spray lite - 0 points
2 cloves garlic, crushed - 0 points
1 teaspoon hot curry powder (or to taste) - 0 points
1 small BNS, peeled and grated - 0 points
225g button mushrooms, halved if large - 0 points
300ml passata - 0 points (I just use a tin of 'whizzed' tomatoes)
300ml vegetable stock - 0 points
250g spinach, washed and roughly shredded - 0 points
small bunch fresh coriander - 0 points
2 tablespoons peanut butter - 6 points
Instructions
1. Heat oil, then fry onion, ginger and garlic for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until beginning to soften
2. Add the curry powder and cayenne pepper and fry, stirring constantly for one minute. Then add the BNS and mushrooms, stirring for a minute or so to make sure they get well covered in the spice mixture
3. Add the passata and stock. Bring to the boil, then cover and simmer for 15- 20 minutes until the mushrooms and BNS are tender.
4. Add the spinach and stir in until just wilted.
5. Take a couple of spoons of the liquid from the pan and mix with the peanut butter to soften, then add this mixture to the pan with the coriander. Heat until peanut butter is to same temperature as rest.
6. Serve and enjoy.
Special Notes
The peanut butter is the main points bit, but really does add a lovely richness - don’t be put off by the list of ingredients, this really is simple to make (and even better the next day if you have leftovers).
We had this on Saturday and it was really yummy - Only problem is there is NEVER any left over for the following day!Dogs have owners, CATS have STAFF...0 -

Orange Chocolate Jelly
SW count 3.5 Syns Red or Green per serving (Serves 4)
1 sachet sugar-free orange jelly crystals
2 x 150g pots Total 0% fat Greek yogurt
1oz/28g cocoa powder
2 tbsp granulated artificial sweetener
1 large orange
1oz/28g plain chocolate
Method
1. Dissolve the jelly crystals in ¼ pt boiling water. Add ½pt cold water and cool completely.
2. Put the yogurt in a bowl and add the cocoa powder and artificial sweetener through a sieve and then beat well to combine.
3. Slowly pour the cooled jelly into the yogurt mixture, whisking at the same time, until smooth. Either divide the mixture between 4 individual pudding moulds or put in a big one. Put into the fridge for 2 hours until set.
4. Meanwhile peel the orange taking away as much of the white pith as possible. Slice between each segment to take away the skin. Cover and chill until required.
5. To serve, release jelly from moulds, decorate with orange segments and grate over the chocolate.0
