Travel insurance for 13 year old going on Holiday with family friend

Hi,

My 13 year old son is going on Holiday to Spain with a family friend for 3 weeks in the summer holiday.

I have been on Moneysupermarket but it won't let me put a "minor" down as a policyholder.

Does anyone know of a way to get him insurance?

Thanks

Paul

ps...I have already got his EHIC card

I've had the same with my son, you can only get insurance through the family he is going with.
Some policies will only include children at same address as policy holder others don't.
Otherwise you'll have to ring a broker to see if they can advise diffgerently.

Direct travel Insurance will cover a child travelling on their own but they will have to pay the adult rate, for 3 weeks to Spain this varies from £10:80 to £23 depending on the level of cover you want.

Age FAQs then click home for a quote. I have used them in the past for our family policy but have to phone as we have pre existing medical stuff. They are a pleasure to deal with on the phone, luckily I have never had to claim so can't comment on that bit.
