Premenstrual munchies

I know im not the only one to suffer this, i get RAVENOUSLY hungry a few days before my period. Trying to snack on fruit doesn't cut it, I do like apples but after a couple of those I rumble like crazy. Anyone else get this and what do you do about it?
I'm not overweight, about 10st. for 5'7" tall but i think if this carries on i may well be!

I do this also, I get major munchies for chocolate, I will wake up at 6am and need to eat it. To tell you the truth I just give into it, I don't really eat "bad" food so those 2 days arn't going to do much damage to me.

I only noticed I did this when a rew years ago my gran pointed out that she used to get it as well.

I seem to remember a nutritionist saying Brazil nuts are really good for PMS and if you're gonna eat chocolate, then eat chocolate covered Brazil nuts!

:D I get full on munchie attacks :D

Oh, and I'm not fussy - I just NEED FOOD :D

I've recently started eating mixed nuts & seeds with some raisins and a little bit of dried sweetened fruit to keep me off the chocolate :D Its probably just as bad as the chocolate but it makes me feel healthier anyway

:rotfl: I love that term - fruity. I get that too :rotfl:

I get this too. I have been doing really well at Slimming World and yet the week before I just want to eat, eat, eat. Like you say, eating fruit just doesn't help and all I want is chocolate and rubbish. I have no idea how to stop it, so I just give into it so I don't feel deprived.

Phew! Sounds like i'm in good company then! I crave carbs, especially bread or bagels, and sometimes chocolate. Have tried to replace those with fruit or proteins (nuts, meat...) but i think i will just have to go with it by the sounds of things. Its only after my last (failed) pregnancy that I have had these symptoms, since i had a coil fitted. Is that a coincidence?
