My H2B has had a tip off from a fellow money-saving Groom... Threshers and Wine Rack (and everyone else in that organisation - can't remember off the top of my head) have gone into administration, and are having a massive clearance sale - vodka apparently £6.59 a bottle, whisky and stuff around £8, Pimms around £7 and pint glasses 10p. This, apparently is bargainous according to H2B who spent all night comparing prices while I cried my eyes out at Children in Need!!! Now we got told this info midweek, we're gonna go out today and have a look - there's a store locator on the website I think- but bearing in mind it's a clearance sale I don't know how much stock will be left... but thought it was worth a mention and hope it helps somebody x

After an exhausting trip to every said off licence in our area, we have discovered that the sale is very much on... and it includes The Local as Frannyann says, as well as Wine Rack. Lots of them were completely sold out - even selling the fridges (£100 - bargain?!) but we found a wine rack and a Thresher with stock left. The staff in every shop were sooo helpful, giving us advice as to when prices would go down further etc, so do check in your locality as you could get some bargains. All big name brands - including all champagne was 30-40% off - but we found the mark-ups were geneally higher in Wine Rack especially. Again, it varies from store to store.
However after all this, H2B popped to Tesco for lemons, and came back with a bottle of Malibu and a bottle of Bacardi... most (maybe all?) spirits are 2 for £20 apparently. I am now removing myself from all involvement in the alcohol-buying process as I just can't keep up. Men?!0 -

I think that it's either bargain booze or booze buster that are also in the group too.
