no you can't download rv sitebuilder free, but it comes included as part of some hosting packages to enable you to get a site online easily.0
-
yeah, the host i was looking at provides this but you have to do it online and that seems a little difficult to me,
any free builders i can use similar to this that i can then copy the source code into ? I am great , yes I am
:rotfl:
If you think I was useful , Thank you, for thanking me

ive used this hosting before. altho not as much bandwidth etc but is free http://www.freevirtualservers.com/0

Th hosting ,,you have that sorted it seems.
The adding of banners and affiliates ..they usually have a little code that you copy paste ..so you only need to position it where best seen on your site.
Java is a programming language and all but no use at all on a site...javascript is what makes forms validate, popups and other options work, it's also used for lots of things that aren't images or text..like menus that rollover when clicked. This is also something you can go find at somewhere likr hotscripts.com and copy paste (maybe edit the exact links and/or wordind to fit).
Many banners and ads use flash instead now..it's more useful and there are resources to make flash banners online free and add to your site.
Google and other ad systems also provide code to copy paste.
Making a sie is something everyone can do, adding ads and banners..ditto.
Making people stay long enough to click the banners..and return is the key really.
Nothing annoys visitors more than a page fully of flashing ads and no content.
Test whatever you think is good about your site on your thickest friend..if they can use it and like it, you're half way there. You'll like it because you made it, that's no help in reality. You want to know how easy it is to find things, how easy to use...and do people like the style and content enough to use it.
Good luck.
If you need any help or get stuck with anything...I'd be happy to help.

https://www.livehost.org.uk offer free web hosting on UK based servers but you have to take a sub-domain for your site address. They don't allow the use of your own domain.0

I have been reading up on various webhosts myself lately and read an article warning to be careful about the "unlimited" statement.
http://www.thesitewizard.com/webhosting/unlimited-space-bandwidth.shtml
This statement in the terms & conditions also bring up some worrying issues, but they may not apply to you...Examples of unacceptable material on all Shared servers include:
IRC Bots, Proxy Scripts / Anonymizers, Pirated Software / Warez, image, filedump, mirror, or banner-ad services (similar to rapidshare, photobucket, or commercial banner ad rotation), affiliate servers, topsites, commercial audio streaming (more than one or two streams), Escrow, High-Yield Interest Programs (HYIP) or related sites, Investment sites (FOREX, egold exchange), sale of any controlled substance without prior proof of appropriate permit(s), AutoSurf sites, Bank Debentures, Bank Debenture Trading Programs, Prime Banks Programs, lottery sites, muds / rpg's, hate sites, hacker focused sites/archives/programs, or sites promoting illegal activities, IP Scanners, Brute Force Programs, Mail Bombers and Spam Scripts. Forums and or websites that distribute or link to warez content are prohibited.
Offering video and/or audio streaming or downloads, MP3 Files, Games and shareware is also not permitted on any Just Host server.
Using a shared account as a backup/storage device is not permitted, with the exception of one cPanel backup of the same account.
Obviously some of those activities outlined there are well within their rights, however they seem to be excluding a lot of stuff that many might consider normal
Resource Usage
User may not:
Use 25% or more of system resources for longer than 90 seconds. There are numerous activities that could cause such problems; these include: CGI scripts, FTP, PHP, HTTP, etc.
Run stand-alone, unattended server-side processes at any point in time on the server. This includes any and all daemons, such as IRCD.
Run any type of web spider or indexer (including Google Cash / AdSpy) on shared servers.
Run any software that interfaces with an IRC (Internet Relay Chat) network.
Run any bit torrent application, tracker, or client. You may link to legal torrents off-site, but may not host or store them on our shared servers.
Participate in any file-sharing/peer-to-peer activities
Run any gaming servers such as counter-strike, half-life, battlefield1942, etc
Run cron entries with intervals of less than 15 minutes
When using PHP include functions for including a local file, include the local file rather than the URL. Instead of include("http://yourdomain.com/include.php") use include("include.php")
While our shared services are suitable for the bulk of our customers, there comes a time for some websites when they are better suited for a larger plan, which allows for more dedicated CPU and memory resources. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to discontinue service to any customer with a website or other hosted data that takes up more than 10% of the server resources and/or 10% of the server's CPU. This means that if your website is found to be utilizing more than 10% of the CPU and memory of the service, we reserve the right to take your site offline. If this becomes necessary, you can either upgrade your hosting package, or request a pro-rated refund of the amounts you have paid in advance for the services. Due to the severity of this, and our ability to act quickly to correct these situations to avoid server issues, we will do everything reasonably feasible to provide you with a warning prior to taking your site offline, but we accept no obligation to do so.
It seems to me that all they want you to do with your "unlimited" access is simply use your site to advertise THEIR affiliate links
I particularly like this bit lolLimitation of Liability
Here is another section that has to retain its legalese. Simply stated, what this section is saying is that if something goes wrong, Just Host Ltd. cannot be held liable for it. IN NO EVENT SHALL Just Host Ltd. BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY OTHER PERSON FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFIT OR GOODWILL, FOR ANY MATTER, WHETHER SUCH LIABILITY IS ASSERTED ON THE BASIS OF CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), BREACH OF WARRANTIES, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, ANY BREACH OF THIS AGREEMENT OR ITS INCORPORATED AGREEMENTS AND POLICIES, YOUR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE OR SERVICES, YOUR LOSS OF DATA OR FILES OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF Just Host Ltd. HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. Some states may not allow such a broad exclusion or limitation on liability for damages as contained in these terms of services. In those states, our liability is limited to the full extent permitted by law. You agree that in no event shall our maximum aggregate liability exceed the total amount paid by you for the services in dispute purchased from us, or, in the event of liability of Just Host Ltd. due to your enrollment in the affiliate program
So basically they are saying that their servers could be down at any time, even peak and you have absolutely no comeback for lost business, even if they manage to delete most of your data lol"Don't blink. Blink and you're dead. They are fast. Faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink. Good Luck" - The Doctor.0 -
Anyways, to get back to what I was saying about the unlimited thing, yes, they may have an unlimited possibility but that only works if you are the only one using the server ever, if 11 people each take 9% (which should be acceptable according to the T&C) everyone else will have to make do with the remaining 1% lol
You are far better actually going with a direct statement saying you have 400mb usage, with a 10mb/s downstream, at least then you know EXACTLY what you are paying for upfront, have agreed to that rather than some wild claim which doesn't actually mean anything at the end of the day and you can extend it if it becomes necessary for a minimal extra cost.
Good luck

Lee from the post above makes a most excellent point, you also say they supply you with the domain, is that actually your domain-name or the actual sub-domain name?
I simply ask because if they give you a name such as https://www.CCLCsRandomDomain.justhost.com you dont actually hold any rights to it really, they could switch off any day and your loyal footfall who come back often will go with them, they will not have a clue where you are, on the other hand...if you buy https://www.CCLCsRandomDomain.com it will follow you around for all eternity even if justhost goes belly up, you can simply switch to another provider as you would take your telephone number from BT to TalkTalk. (so long as you pay your annual registration fees...usually about £5-10/year)
Besides that, I know I do not go to a website that is obviously hosted by another hosting company simply because the name becomes unwieldy, do you know of people who do?
Think about it this way, would amazon.com be anywhere near as successful if they were amazon.justhost.com? lol
Getting a domain name is actually quite easy if you use a reputable registrar such as sedo.com, you just have to be careful to buy it as soon as you search for it, do your research first, figure out what name/s you want in order of preference and have your credit card handy.
Much like if you are at a carboot sale, if you see something you like make sure you can pay for it right then and there because if you turn your back for a second to ask your partner for change you can be sure there will be an 80 year old battleaxe in tweed grasping it like rigor mortis has already set in, make sure you have your hands firmly on it
Some people actually troll the "recent search" fields looking for good site names, and if they see there is interest in one they may recognise it has potential to be resold back to you at 10x-1000x the original asking price so while at the time of search it may cost you £10 to register it for yourself, 30 minutes later it could end up costing you £1000+ easily lol
For another example, if you are a takeout food place in Zambia and you found that (www)piz.za was available or you were a techie guy and found the name (www)cyb.org up for grabs at literally pennies, how much do you think a reseller could charge you for it? lol
Yes, free or very cheap is all very well and good, but not if it costs you more in the long run
(Sorry for rambling on forever lol)"Don't blink. Blink and you're dead. They are fast. Faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink. Good Luck" - The Doctor.0 -
I'm afraid if you want your site to be online indefinitely, and under your own domain name, you will need to pay a professional web host to do this. A sub-domain free host is good if you just want some web space to mess about with as a hobby etc.0

Here is a very interesting post that people looking to go into Justhost should be aware of I think...

You could go for a basic hosting package with somewhere like lunarpages or justhost for example, which works out at about £2 per month (£24 per year when paid 1 or 2 years in advance) - but if you go via a cashback site like topcashback you get around £60 cashback which means effectively you get 2 years or more of free hosting!
I agree that buyng the domains (I use 123reg) and hosting them yourself is a good choice as if the site proves popular you control the domain name and can also change hosts.
Boy oh boy.
I started to open an account for a friend tonight with JustHost, and stopped after filling out my personal details - name, email, postal, tel. number... I decided against it when I saw the real hosting plan prices (they say £2.95/month...but really it's 48 months up front - seriously).
So, form filled out but didn't press Submit or Continue.
Tried to close the window, and two pop-ups appear with a Yes/No dialog box ("STAY PLEASE WE'LL GIVE YOU 50% OFF" type message).
Oh dear, here we go. Now you know they're not someone you want to host with.
So, I had to close it. I hit cancel then quit the browser the hard way.
Five minutes later, I get this:

First question: "How the hell did they get my email address?", then "...and my name...?"
These creeps are snooping on their own application forms. Which means they have my name, email, postal address, telephone number... and thank god I didn't enter my credit card details.
This is irresponsible (for network privacy reasons), unethical and downright reprehensible: JustHost are snooping on their customers, before they're even customers. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE.
My encounter with JustHost has left me absolutely furious and more than a little worried.
If you want to know more about this company, just try googling "justhost scam"."Don't blink. Blink and you're dead. They are fast. Faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink. Good Luck" - The Doctor.0
