Dave, thanks.
Since my post above I've had a reply from Customer Services saying "I have referred your email to our specialist department who will look into this and remove your details. Please understand that we may need to contact other areas of our business to assist with your enquiry."
I'll let that run and hope to hear from Customer Services when they've done it. If not, I'll email the email address you give and mark it for your attention.
But really, Customer Services ought to be able to handle a simple "remove" request shouldn't they.0 -
I'd never heard of Very until today, either."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

I'm with you on this one, Wistful. Why on earth should anyone need more personal information when your whole point is that they shouldn't have any information about you in the first place? They don't *need* your DOB to remove your name and address, for some reason they want it. Probably innocuously, but irritating all the same.
If I wanted to buy something from Very, I'd do so. I don't need to be spammed, then asked for personal details when I politely point out that I'd rather not be spammed. It incenses me.
I had something similar with the constant 'To the Occupier' letters that Virgin Media sent me. They don't have my details, just my address and I was getting fed up with 2 or 3 pieces of spam mail a week. When I called (sending it all back made no difference) they insisted on taking my name before they'd remove me from their database. It's illogical. They add my name, then they remove it. What a load of bollox. I gave them false details, the letters have stopped. You could have given a false DOB to Very I guess."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
