Only one bag per person is permitted as hand luggage. This includes children, but not infants.

I'd make the point that a handbag counts as one bag - I've seen posts where somebody couldn't get their handbag into their hand luggage so the hand luggage had to go into the hold.

    Well done, PBS.

    24) Hold baggage allowances are per person, not across the entire booking.
    You cannot 'pool' allowances.

    I'd make these 2 separate points. ;)

    Done :)

Thank you for the help, and keep it coming :) If we can put together a nice comprehensive guide to Ryanair, then people unfamilar with the airline can be pointed here. Might be useful ;)

Good to see that 'the usual suspects' have found somewhere to congregate. :)

Nevertheless, the thread could prove useful for some.

When was the last time you posted a useful thread which addresses such a large proportion of the questions asked on this forum?

Don't be jealous you didn't think of it first.

    Excellent post PBS.

As part of the tips section i suggest you add about looking where the airport is.

I seem to remember hearing some of Ryanair's airports are up to 100km away from the city it purports to fly to.

    Thanks :)

Some are even further - Oslo (Torp) is about 115km or so away from Oslo, although the main Oslo airport is pretty far away too. Equally so, Lodz airport is 7km from the city centre. Absolutely crazy :)

Phew...just added even more - but definitely keep the suggestions coming, especially for the first part ;)

I would like to make everyone aware that you now have to have a passport for children flying on domestic flights within the UK with Ryanair. I have been using Ryanair for a few years to travel between England and Belfast without my 8 year old son having a passport.

I am just glad I read the new regulations or I would have had to pay £40 per person each way, to check in at the airport, rather than the £3 or £4 I used to pay last year!!!!!

I booked my flights this week with Easyjet instead. No passport required for children, travelling with an adult within the UK.
  • Aha, yes, that's an excellent tip to be added.

    Thank you :)
