Hi all hoping someone can give me a little help.
our main fuse on the fuse box keeps tripping.
sometimes one of the other fuses on the board which is for my lights upstairs trips also but this does not happen all the time!
I obviously have aproblem but need to find out what. Could someone advise on fault finding as it doesn't neccesarily trip as soon as i turn the power back on ???
hope this isn't gibberish but i could do with some help

Is it an RCD that you are referring to?0

Right the best thing to do is unplug everything from the sockets and try and reset the RCD (assuming you have one),if it stays on try plug the appliances back in 1 at a time (if it trips off again the chances are you have a faulty appliance,i'm betting on the kettle)0

hi all thanks for replies, did all the fault finding i could.
Electrician came today and it ended up being a problem with a light fitting in the bathroom!
Was charged £60 for his time but he was at our gaff for 2 hours and he lives 15-20mins away. He is a "friend" as such but i wouldn't get any favours. I know its irrelevant now and we were happy with his charge but a little gratification is always nice if that was a good price? Could people give opinion.

The price is very good for a Sunday.
JIB rates (what I would have to pay an employee if I sent one out) would generally be 4 hours at time and a half, before I made any profit.
Normal rate for 1 hour on a Sunday may be +£70.baldly going on...0 -
sweet just what i wanted to here
thank you0
