Peugeot radio code?

Hiya, not sure where to put this question - I hope this is right.I recently had to change the battery in my Peugeot 206 and as a result the radio isn't working now. I've had a look through all my documentation and don't have the code anywhere. I phoned the original dealer who supplied it and they said they only keep the records for 2-3 years (my car is 7 years old). I tried my local dealer & they are looking to charge £25 for finding the code for me! This seems really steep - is there a cheaper way of getting the code? I know there are websites that charge under £10 but they seem a bit dodgy to me.Thanks in advance.

I'ved used a garage near where I work in the past, they had a man who came in one day a week and decoded radios for £10.

You could try local specialist car audio shops, they'll probably know someone who can do it or be abel to themselves.

    Hi
I owned a Pegeot 306 couple of years back same thing happened to me, but with my documentation was a card with the number on, its not part of the general documentation about the car and should hold a 4 digit number.

You could try one of these two codes

    4561
    1257

Alternatively this site is it states prices from £8.99 but us your judegement if the price rises to sharply.

I will dig around and see what else i can find, but for now I hope this helps

If you bought it second hand, not sure how easy this is on a 206, take out the radio as some people actually write the code on the radio, or a sticky label nearby.
Check your paper work again looking for any 4 digits e.g. written in a margin.
Have a look up under the dash, people sometimes put the code on a sticky label.
I found the code for one of our Fiesta vans this way.
Websites can be used, but I do know that for Peugeot commercials you have to use the main dealer.
    Move along, nothing to see.
  • What make radio is it? And the serial no.?

Ohh and donot keep trying all the suggested nos. they will block you out permanantly after several false attempts

    Hi,

I have peugeot 206, year is 1999. I bought the code for £8 after my battery went flat - from instant-radio-code.co.uk. Mine was 1252 if you want to give that a try. My radio is a basic blaupunkt one with a cassette.

I had a ZX and Citroen dealer wanted £30 to unlock.
Local garage did it while I waited for £10.

Just look through the paper for independent garage and ring round for the lowest price.

the codes are embedded in at least 2 different formats. First, is one where they stick a serial number on it, and you get your software which once was 'freely' available and you put you code, car model? and radio type and it generates the key No number for you.

Second, is when the security is embedded in the radio and you need to take the the radio out, hook it up certain points and decode a chip (usually a PIC) so you need a special adapter + Pc + software
GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time. ;)

    Hi

I have got a peugeot 306 bought second hand 2 months ago, radio code needed, but think it has been entered wrongly many times as it doesnt let me enter any numbers, is there any way of unlocking this myself without having to pay money out?

    thanks
