Where to get a potato scoop ?

Does anybody know which shop would sell a potato scoop , the one where you scoop it up and press the clicker with youre thumb and it slides the potato out.
My dear mum has been complaining of not being to find one so I said I'd get her one.
Everywhere I looked there were just ice cream scoops but not potato.

Can anybody recommend a shop ( Nottingham area) or mail order ?

Thanks

I thought they were the same thing

Pretty sure I've seen them in Morrisons, but I'm sure they sell them on ebay.

All these say ice cream/potato so I think they're the same thing! http://www.google.co.uk/products?q=potato+scoop
  • Yes, they're the same thing. I recently bought one in Asda. Very cheap.
  • i think there are 2 different types, there is one sort that is a scoop and when you press the button it pushes the food out with a little lever, this sort only works on icecream as mash just gives and stays stuck.
the other sort is the one you need with a thing that swings round and 'slices' the food out so you get a nice neat lump of mash/ ice-cream. the ones on the link are the right sort.. i bought the wrong sort....

That's exactly what I was going to say. My DH sometimes serves them to me in a scoop as a joke:eek:. I have to immediately mash them down :rotfl:

Another one who uses and ice cream scoop for mashed potatos. You just sort of scrape it on the side of the saucepan to level then press out. Lovely. :)

I am thinking of asking for a potato ricer as part of my Christmas prezzie. I do like gadgets and practical things!
