Did anyone get one of these today? My daughter got one and cannot figure out how to download music from the computer onto the mp3 player. The computer does not seem to recognise the device, even though we have put the mp3 cd in to install. We have windows xp.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

    Yes. bought one today.

Didn't install any software, just plugged it in to a USB port and the PC recognised it as a "device with removable storage" or something. I could then browse the memory on the player just like a normal folder, drag and drop stuff onto it etc.

Just tried it on my second PC and the same thing happened. Subsequently, it appears as "Removable Disk(H)" when I browse "My Computer".

I am using Windows XP Home edition, including pretty recent updates.

If it is like the one I got a while back from Aldi, that took SD cards as well, then with anything above Win98SE, it should just be recognised when you plug it into an USB port. You should be able to just drag and drop files in then.

One of the annoyances I find with this type of device is that they seem to have minds of their own when it comes to preserving the order of tracks in say, an album. One freeware program that helps for me is called "ReOrganize!" and you should be able to spot this on Google. I found this invaluable with the tracks on the SD card in above device.

    Hope that helps.

    Regards,

    White.

Still not managed to get it working on my pc!

Have tried it on my friends and it works straight away.

Any suggestions on what might be stopping it working?

    Thanks.

WHich version of Windows do you have?

Do you have any other USB devices which you can plug into the ports you've tried? (To check it's not a faulty / miswired port).
