Don't know if this has been mentioned before, but thought it was worth sharing anyway.
Marks and Spencer. Make superbly build furniture, but at a cost. However, if you place an order, and subsequently cancel for whatever reason, you are not penalised. Now, depending on when you cancel, they may well have made your order (e.g. chair) already in your choice of fabric.
What do they do with these cancelled orders? Can't sell them in the M&S stores. They instead get sold, at a heavily discounted price, at the outlets of the sole furniture suppliers to M&S, deeside furniture.
There's two in Flint, North Wales, and one in Falkirk.
website: http://www.deeside-furniture.co.uk/shop.html
We got a large 2 seater and standard 2 seater Abbey sofa in brown leather for 1550, RRP of the large one alone is 1399. Also 6ft leather bed 1150 for 630.
Definately worth a look.

I looked on their website but did not find any item for sale. Does the shop allow you to transact over the internet?Do you make things happen, watch things happen, or just wonder, what happened?0

No, you have to visit the stores. Their stock is turned over very quickly. THey get sizeable weekly deliveries.
What I would suggest is that you get the M&S catalogue, decide roughly what you're looking for (sofa, cabinet, etc) and phone them if you're not local.
We stay near the Falkirk outlet, and were told about it by a friend. Bought the large 2 seater and normal two seater Abbey sofas, and the Amber 6ft leather bed.
We'd asked the couple that run the shop to keep an eye out for a bed coming in, and they duly phoned when it did.
The furniture is top top quality though. YOu absolutely get what you play for, and here you're getting M&S quality at DFS prices!0 -
Hi, you wrote this note a few years back. I tried to find the web page you suggested but without any luck. does this shop still exist? Or does anyone know of any more M&S furniture discount stores? Many thanks.0

Hi Snowdrop5. Try this http://www.trade-secret.co.uk/ once you register they send you a link to their catalogue. I've been to one of their warehouses and was amazed at the quality and the price.0

Hi, is it definitely returned stock of marks and spencer and the like? I was having a look today at their online catalogue, and then searched the name of the furniture via google, but nothing came up.0 -
